Hey everyone who's interested enough to look in here. I thought i'd try a thread for N.American gamers who are just getting their PES2008 today or in the next few weeks and experiencing it for the first time. How'd you like it ? whats better, whats worse than 2007 ? What can they improve ingame to make it better ? who know's when and where a N.America OF is available ?

I'm personally more interested in PS2 gamers as i am one myself but any format can give their piece.

I'm hoping to pick up 2008 straight after work, so until then let me know what you think!

Hello.

Nice to see N. America thread. I am gonna get the game for ps2 in about 30 minutes. I will play it for few hours, then I will leave some thoughts about N. American PES2008.

I just hope that somebody makes N.America OF for us :(

I've already heard that Kenwyne Jones (Sunderland Striker) isn't in the game even for Trinidad and Tobago National team, which is a downer for me being a SAFC supporter. But even before a US OF is created theres a thread on this website to be able to create him. Since he's the best player on the team i may have to edit it myself before i start playing.

got mine today. don't think online is up yet...haven't got a OF to work yet. no converter yet...once somebody finds something they will have to let us all know

got my ps3 copy today, ive already playd my first online match and there was no lag :), its a bit boring since there are no lobbies, im playn my 2nd match as im writing this theres lag but its not critical. now to the gameplay its more like pes5 than pes6(2007)which its ok but i wouldve prefer a pes6 style gameplay, im loving the visuals, i love the nice green grass. and the player models a great.

i like this game i wouldve like to see online lobbies and chat like in the ps2 version, but other than that its a great game.

Ok. I've played PES2008 for ps2 about three hours now. It's freaking awesome! Definately better than PES2007 in every aspect. The only concern I have is the OF. Is there any news about OF for N. American users yet?

I got my copy earlier this night and I must say this game is amazing for the xbox 360 U.S. Version. I love it. I love playing as Barca, as finally playing as Ronny and Messi is how it suppose to be. They can out run defenders if not well covered. IT owns. Messi is amazing in this game. I think im going to play its alot more than 07 360. I LUV IT!!!!

I am honest and ive played fifa for years. THis game is nowhere near like fifa or fifa next gen disasters that is the new enigne in 07 beyond. I think Seabass wanted Fifa graphics but pes gameplay and thats exactly what they did but this game has better graphics than fifa games. SInce lately fifa games look more "gel" like. The gameplay is alot better the movement engine if that is a term is ALOT better. The players move alot more fluid.

Seabass is the shit this year. I hurd 09 will be alot different with a total engine swap. SO I cant wait for that. Seabass wont let us down 09 either.

What a step up from last years game. Gameplay is so good, great game. Looks like Konami has been working hard over the past few months. Good job guys.

I have been playing WE9 since it came out and this is the first update I have purchased. I think the game moves very smooth, the graphics are great and the overall game play is fun.

I dont like the controls for defenders though. It seems like by the time you click on a defender (I use manual mode) they are already out of position allowing FAR more shots on goal than I like.

I seem to get far less shots on goal than I did on the previous versions, BUT they are better chances and I have produced FAR more goals than I did even two nights ago on WE9.

And as always, until the option file comes out, this game have large holes in it. But that is a double edged sword. I mean, I LOVE to edit this game. I LOVE to be able to change up the kits after a season or two. But if Konami got all the EPL liscences that would come to an end since you cannot edit a licensed team (something I hate!). So I prefer the fact that the EPL is not fully licensed, but I am not that good of an artist to recreate all of the badges, so I shall wait.

overall- 8/10

im freaking out now played my last 2 games and won 8-6 and the other 6-5 this is not good i dont like high scoring games, im using this formation:

Something worse than '07...

This game gives the computer INFINITE stoppage time. I have literally counted the computer being given almost three entire minutes when only one minute was posted (in a 5-minute match, mind you!) with the ball in the cpu's half of the field, while I can be in the 6-yard box with the ball, leg being cocked to shoot, the opponent's keeper in midfield, and time will be blown the second the game goes into stoppage. Outrageous.

Get use to it, PES2008 is too easy, I won 4x0 on my very first game vs Man U and I was Villareal, playing on profesional
