I want to put some players up for training but just don't seem to get it right. I try to assign individual skill cards to players and or training on new positions but when I look at the cost of the training it shows zero.
Also the focus points seems to be difficult to use for training.

Thanks in advance.

After you choose the skill card you want, you have to assign some focus points onto it.

I seem to have a problem with the "assigning"

I dont know what to say, when you choose the card, below the name are the arrows to add or remove focus points. It's very simple thats why I can't understand your problem.

Did you take focus points off something else first to make sure you had some available to assign?

In simple terms, when you have manual training selected, you get to allocate 24 points to each player (might be 6, I'm not on the game right now to confirm). Say each training category has 4 points each (shooting, passing etc), when you want a player to learn a new position, you simply select the position, deduct a point off each of the training categories (shooting, passing etc), and allocate the 6 points you now have to the position. You should then see how many weeks it will take for the player to adapt.

n.b You don't have to take one point of all the training categories, you can take three of one, two on another etc etc.

^One thing to add, the points you have available to allocate is dependent on the quality of your training staff. You wont necessarily get 24 points if you have the cheapest trainer.

It doesn't even make any sense!

He was just agreeing with everyone else for some reason. You know... like... "What they said". Because he has nothing more to add.
Either that, or he's just being a massive troll :D

So he wasn't imparting a thought of his own :faceplm:

As one Blackadder once said "Try to have a thought of your own, Baldrick, thinking is so important"
