Okay, so i've had the slide card and swap magic for YEARS. was trying to play pes5 the other day, but the swap magic disk wouldn't go past the playstation 2 bit !
I'm SO annoyed that it doesn't work, i can't play many of my ps2 games :(

anyone get any other solutions? I searched and found it worked with the action replay V2, but that didnt work either! Any other solutions before i have to buy another swap magic disk??

cheers in advance

The swap disc puts more strain on the lens...and over time it just won't read anymore, there's not much you can do about it I had to get a new playstaion....just try and find a shop that can repair the lens...or try it yourself.

Flac's right.

I doubt there's anything wrong with your Swap Magic discs. It just so happens that after using Swap Magic for a few years, your lens starts to degrade.

My lens is starting to go aswell now. About a year ago, my PS2 could read my Swap Magic DVD and my Swap Magic CD. Now, my PS2 will only read my Swap Magic CD.

It won't even read DVD Video backups anymore. :(

But like I said, about a year or two ago; my PS2 could read just about everything without any problems at all.

Now, when I try to boot up my Swap Magic DVD or DVD Video backups, all I see is my PS2 stuttering and the lens clicking every now and then followed by a disc read error message.

Mind you, all my PS1/PS2/DVD Video originals still work as good as they ever have. And I can still boot up my PS2 DVD backups through my Swap Magic CD. :)

If you're problem is severe than maybe getting your lens repaired is the answer.

I know I should really do the same but right now, I'm just trying to stay patient with my PS2 until the PS3 comes out. ;)

but the thing is, it reads other games and dvds...just not my swap magic dvd one. Is there any point in trying the swap magic CD version with my dvd back-up? or no point?

Yes.

You can boot up most PS2 DVD-ROM (imports or backups) discs using the Swap Magic CD.

I can give you the exact instructions if you would like to know how.

Not that this is for Swap Magic 3.0. ;)

Ok.

1. First, insert your Swap Magic CD into your PS2. Let it boot up until you see the "Load Program" message appear.

2. Now, press the eject button on your PS2. You should see a message appear along the lines of "Insert higher TOC disc".

3. Take out your Swap Magic CD and insert an original PS2 DVD-ROM disc (ie. games you can buy from game and electronic stores). I use Resident Evil: Code Veronica X as my TOC disc.

4. Insert your high TOC disc into the PS2 disc tray and again, press the eject button.

5. You should now see a message on the screen along the lines of "Refreshing TOC". Wait until you see the "Load Program" message reappear.

6. Now use the Slide Card to slide open your disc tray, take out the TOC disc and insert your PS2 DVD-ROM (import or backup).

7. Slide close the disc tray and press :square: on the controller.

Your game should now boot up without the need to use your Swap Magic DVD.
