Do you have to pay over the odds to actually get players in this game? I'm not one for buying players because I find it more enjoyable developing young players.

I have no problems buying young players and developing them. But two players I have actually bought are Smajnel and Farzal Gaart I bought for 10000 and their wages are quite high (while other clubs payed less for arguably better players).

Every negotiation period I sometimes go for certain players and I up the wages and price for them a bit from the original offer. I tried last time with 10 players and not one success. Do I have to pay over the odds for decent players like Smajnel? Or what is over the odds?

What is a decent price and a decent wage?

Any advice will do.

I'm always buying players either for my team or to sell to other teams in order to make them stronger. Practically every player i've bought cost me a fortune, and yet i've only bought 3 players with wage demands over 900.

It'll be easier to get players with 3 stars nest to there name, as they really want to play for you. So just offer them the default price and wage. 2 stars require a little extra, and 1 star proves to be a real bitch.

If you really can't afford to spend loads then here's a tip. Buy loads of classic players, who only require a contract negotiation, not a transfer fee. Then when you want to buy another player offer a trade deal with one of the classic players you have. They'll be worth loads and should save you a bundle.

Sometimes players won't come to my club, no matter if I'm number 1, won loads of titels, pay huge amounts of money and offer them very high wages. I think some players are just impossible to get.

3 stars nest to there name?

I can't believe I haven't spotted that. I just checked on my PS2 to see what your on about. That will help.

I must have been going to players who are really difficult to get. :D

No problem. 1 star signings are very difficult but they can still happen. There are also some players who have no stars next to their name. I've never managed to get one, so don't hold out for those guys. Like i said though, using trade negotiations works well, so if you can't get players normally then try that.
