hello,

I wish I could get a tip for the Master league. Because with the starting team, at 2 stars I score 10 zero at each match. On 3 starts, I loose 5-0 at each match. What level should I play ?
And when shall I buy my first player ?
I use PS2.
Thanks

Playing PES4 right?

You need to find a solid formation that will work for you. Example is 4-4-2. Try out the variations of this to see which one suits you. Try a flat midfield as well as the 4-2-2-2 and then select the best players you have to play in each position.
Do not press R1 too much. Learn all of the moves in the game, using the manual or one of the guides online.

Give us more details on what is going wrong and we'll be able to give more advice :)

Well, im playing PES 3, and the problem is my defence is shit compared to the enemy attack (in 3*) and my attack gets good chances, but never gets close enough to score (exept once with FEnerbahce, I scored a volley). And what pisses me off, is that I want challenge, and 2* is too easy. With 3 stars, I never get the chance of getting good players from clubs, and often loose after 2 matches (lack of points).

There are a few threads with plenty of good advice here in the Hints section as well as in the General Console section. There are also threads with advise for which players are receommended by other members here. Try to buy a few players for the spine of your team as soon as you can afford them and as soon as you're allowed to make some transfers.

Try to complete the different modes in Training to improve your skills and you will soon be beating 3* easily.

How exactly is your defence letting you down? If they are moving out of position, then in the formation settings, give all of your defenders and DMFs an attack attitude arrow point backwards, towards your own goal and they should be more solid and give you a stronger defence. This leaves you with fewer options up front but with good passing and movement, you should be able to make a few chances. Good luck.
Please be more specific to get more help.

Holes.

What cost me the goal that made me loose 1-0 towards PRoevo United is that one attacker from their team just walked in a huge hole in the defence. I realised afterwards that my defenders either walked around the attacker, and found themselves behind the attacker, or the rest had gone with the Midfielders...
I think I need to do like you said to reinforce those holes, who are particularily annoying, considering Ivarov (start goalkeeper) is real shit.

One thing I realised also while playing against Proevo United is that I had about 72% possesion, 43 shots, but 0 goals. I must get closer to the goal before shooting, thats obvious.

whats worked for me in the past is playing a 4-4-2

i play a 4 man flat back defence
1 mid around center field.
2 outside wing mids
1 attacking mid on top of box
2 forwards

1 good player i bought early and still have is
Doni

he's an offensive mid and can shoot decently well, i take a lot of hard shots with him and score.

i played tons of friendly matches before i even started playing master league.

you just have to get good at the basic skills

shooting: do you know how? Push box hard but only for a short time gives you a low hard shot. I like to use this a lot. remember the harder you push the harder the shot

heading: use r2 to get into position for a header, it takes practice to know what position of each ball will get you the most power and the most accuracy. the keepers usually suck, sow even a slow hit header which is to the side, or a hard header wich is close to the keeper will go through.

Defending: basically dont lunge in.
just contain the player, i hardly use x that much to tackle
after a lot of practice you learn when to use x, but running into the ball is usually enough to jar it loose...

good luck

and remember practice...

Ok, it usually requires me 2 seasons to go thru' the initial division. However if you got the basics of WE7 then you have more chances to beat to complete the Division 2 at the top ranks with enough "CASH" to do suffeciant trades toward Division 1.

Anyways the formation I use all the way is the 3-4-3 with 2 MDs and 2 MFs. You should defend by holding the :x: all time during their attack never release even if you feel that the opponent escaped the defenders. With holding :x: somehow will allow you to tackle.

Try using the above and I am sure you will get better results.

Use man marking then. But you will have to set up the markers before every game to make sure they mark the right people.
And imo you should just play on 5 stars. You will probably lose all your games but after a few days you go back to 3 stars and it will be easy.

set ur right and left backs to man mark their wingers/wide OMFs, this should allow your Central Defenders to take care of the strikers...

start at 6*

if you want to be a good player just jump in at the deep end, there is no point playing at 2*and 3* because you will not become anygood. its like if you want to become a footballer, you would be better off training with ronaldo than your sunday league striker. catch my drift.

Original?

See jMz's formations he may have something you can use. Your first point of call should be getting Kelsen off the bench for Ivarov as he is a far more reliable Keeper.

the difference between 2 star and 3 star is to big .... I have the same thing, I win every match on 2 star but can't seem te score on 3 star... the AI cheats all the time with their rackets up in their ass... this is has left me leaving the game and only play it with friends, no more AI play for me..

I beg your pardon?

Thas is crap.... it works this way in real life but not with a game. The AI cheats more on higher levels so you will have to find a different way of playing but playing agains real live players is a whole other ballgame that is where you become good or not...
