I can try to answer whether players are in the game but it will be based on the beta version.
Letting me know who he plays for will make it a lot quicker.

baggie-1: 60Hz does fill the screen up.
Classic players are not free and you have to pay a fee based on how good their stats are. It's difficult to get anyone for free - you have to find those at the end of their contracts.

Cheers Zyg,
A few other things, the demo disk is crap, this is not how the actual game is!?!?!?!
What sort of Stats does Damien Duff have?
I've read throug the whole thread (all be it very quickly), but I coudnt find a conclusive answer to the regularly asked question how updated will the clud squads be? I dont need exact details, just is chelsea up to date?

Slightly off topic...

This is not a question, so I apologize if I've put this in the wrong thread.

Noticed this add on disk available over on play for PES3, with codes, cheats, updated players etc. Supposed to be due out the same day as PES3.

Also noticed an interesting interview with Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka on the OPS2M site. Thought a few might be interested.

Apologies if these links have been posted already.

Thanks. They have both been posted before - but no worries.
The smart advice is to avoid that cheat disk and get an X-Port instead so you can download better option files made by real fans of the game.

About Pes3

The Game Is Awesome. However, I Don't Like The Pes Shop. It Will Take A Lot Of Time To Buy The Free Trading Section But I Dont Want To Wait. The Game Is Not Updated Enough. Man United Don't Even Have Any Of Their Summer Signings. Beckham Has Gone. The Free Trading Should Be Defaulted In The Edit Section.

I disagree, it gives you somethin to aim for. Winning the International Cup gets you 2500 PES, the regional cups (europe, s.america etc) get you over 1000 PES. And the challenge training, each one up to level 5 gets you over 1000 PES.

If you want to get it quickly just put a 5 min match on, 1 star and win the cups that way.

I'm from Australia too, and so far as I know, we won't play it until January 2004, but we'll see... At least not official copy...
I don't have chipped PS2 so I can't play unofficial one...

And to add something to discussion:
I got sick and tired of reading about PES3 being crap WE7 rules and vice versa and guessings how, who, why etc... ???
We'll see on October 30th because Konami HAS postponed release. Check at their official site...
All those of you that are claiming that you have FINAL version are wrong. I know for sure that there are some modified versions of the game which have been edited into faster and slower game, with stutter and no stutter bug. More licences, less licences...
The thruth is NOBODY acctually played the game.
I'm sure it's better than WE7. It HAS to be, KONAMI won't make a mistake and dissapoint 1 000 000 pre orders, can you just logically think what would that DO to the company??? Nonscense mates, nonscense...
You'll see in a month, and you Goku Zool and I, we better hope that we'll get a game sooner...

Cheers.

P.S. for all of you with "FINAL" version
I'm wondering what is the INTRO like in PES3, if you have FINAL version???

To Milosh and Gokuzool

Don't worry guys, we won't have to wait for too long, I'm an Australian PES fan as well, just searched around the internet to find some news for us and guess wat, it seems the release date for us isn't going to be delayed as much as you think, check it out:

Pro Evolution Soccer 3 Release News
Posted by Big Gaz (7 Oct 2003, 7:46 a.m. NZDT)

The local Konami distributors have sent word that Pro Evolution Soccer 3 is on track to release in New Zealand in the last week of October for the Playstation 2. The game just last week exceeded 1 million pre-orders in Europe, and is without doubt the most highly anticipated soccer game this year. The PC version is also still on track to be releasing in November.

Here's the link also: http://www.gameplanet.co.nz/mag.dyn/News/6306.html

So, since NZ has it in october, don't think we'll be too far behind

I agree the truth is no one has played the full commercially released PES3 game, as it hasn't been commercially released ;)

But with that statement how can you say that PES3 will be better then WE7? But Konami can't really fail to beat PES2, it doesn't really take that much, when you have PES3 a WE Production on your side (can't confirm until the release, upon which we will start busting it open and having a gander at the files).

Games reviewers have been receiving in bits and pieces but I think the most recent passed over have been fully pressed dvds, which are probably closer to the final release as it's going to get.

I have a question, if everyone could check their 60Hz mode...is it full 60Hz PAL or is it a direct NTSC port...I've tried to replace the video file but it doesn't like 60Hz PAL and is labeled NTSC.

Patching is looking promising though, so either way I'll be playing a personalised WE7 or PES3, I don't really care. :) Although I appreciate other 'under privileged' (is that right Zyg? ;)) people have a huge need for the game.

They are apparently working madly to make PES3 the most up-to-date, but that's not going to stop patchers making it even more accurate...all this talk makes me miss my ps2 :(

Just wondering if the commentators say the proper team names from the start or whether you have to unlock them as in PES2 (by winning the Konami cup - or whatever it was)

Cheers!

Default team names are screwed up as in PES2 apart from the licenced clubs. But you don't have to unlock anything to edit them - you can go straight in.
No name for Arsenal though. London again.

Watch out for "Bra-zil". (Bra as in a bra!)

Has anyone noticed that when you edit the shirt name of players (any player) their hair goes a rather fetching blonde!!!!????!!!!

and also on the subject of shirt names, they are more accurate than players actual names!!

I usually pride myself on football knowledge and on PES 2 i named 90% of players/teams from my own knowledge, but some of the names on 3 i cant even guess, but my point is there were 4 or 5 players for Holland and Germany i wasnt sure about, but when you look at their shirt name its a lot closer, 2 of these are Andy Van Der Meyde and Rafael Van Der Vaart!!! Try It!

Is it true that scoring from distance is easier than in PES2. On issextreme.com i check the goal gallery regularly and i see a huge amount of distance shots

also I'd like to know if it's possible to edit shirt number by club teams
tnx in advance

Yes, scoring from distance is easier in PES2 but PES2's shooting was unrealistic. PES3 is much more balanced and realistic in terms of shooting. Some people have said that you will never score a long-range beauty in WE7/PES3. They're completely wrong. It is possible and with some practice you'll be scoring belters more and more often. It is more moderated, however. You can't just shoot from anywhere with some space and expect to get it in. Your best chance to score from some way outside the box is to find some space and not fill up the shooting gauge. When you get it in, and you will, it will feel so much more satisfying then anything PES2 could offer.

ok, i think that's a good thing coz sometimes in PES2 you hit a 25 yard cracker and the goalie saves it while he isn't able to hold slow tap ins from the sixteenyard line

You can edit shirt numbers for club as well as national players.

I would think that the point of a goal gallery is to show mostly spectacular goals so those long range ones seen won't be the typical goal scored.

I got a few questions for ya about PES3.

!. What the hell is the stutter bug that everyone keeps going on about and is it present in PES3 the final version?

2. Has the crossing and heading improved from PES2? (Annoying in PES2 when cross takes a year to fall into the box and the striker heads the ball over from six yards!)

3. Are through balls easier to execute? (Another annoying glitch that whenever U make a thru ball it almost all the time gets intercepted)

4. Are goalkeepers abilities more realistic from PES1 and PES2? (Cos I distinctly seem to remember that free kicks are hard to score)

5. Which players are at their new clubs in PES3? (Summer transfers)
