Hey there, Portuguese player reporting for duty!

19 years old, turning 20 next month, hardcore fan of real football, and a FCPorto fanatic :D!

I've been playing Fifa for as long as i can remember and i was proud of it but with the new fifa 11 i found pretty irrealistic and frustrating the overwhelming pressure once you cross to the opponents mid field and the fact that the longer you keep the ball the harder it is to score goals which promotes counter attack strategies and discourages the idea of creating a proper builded up play, and yadayadayada(probably the same problems everyone else see's and rants about in fifa).

So, just for the hell of it i bought PES2011 yesterday, and i couldnt be more satisfied! Its true that i still have a lot to see in the game before i can give an educated opinion about it, but so far... it was actually fun! its challenging without being frustrating, of course with time i will find its flaws but i doubt it will prove to be more of a headache than Fifa!

And thats it i guess, i finally crossed over from Fifa! lets see if it is for good haha.

Sorry for the major and unnecessary wall of text, i hope we can all get along and play some matches in the future ;).

Your name kind of reminds me of an old PES Master League striker for the default team called Barota (I think his name was).

I haven't played PES 2011 in months to be honest, but early this afternoon I felt a real desire to play Master League Online again. So I've been on PES 2011 for the last 2-3 hours or so, and loving it. I've created my online team - I opted for the PES team 'Fineseeberg' and given them a really lovely set of kits and sponsers. I've only played 1 Master League match online but drew 1-1 to another player who was playing as Juventus, which doesn't seem a bad result since I have the default original players, but I was leading 1-0 up until stoppage time before conceding a poor goal so it's a little heart-wrenching!

Oh, and your english is really great too Barrote, so you have nothing to worry about there! I always admire others who learn another language, it's really quite superb.

I'd give you game but I play on the Xbox so that's possible! :lol:

Welcome to the site though Barrote and feel free to check out the PES sections and also the General forums further down the main page for all things like TV, random discussion etc!

To be quite honest i dont think i can give anyone a run for their money in a match, just tried to play master league offline for an hour with a low ranked english team with the pes default roster(as in without the real players of said team). and god its so difficult haha! and the game is really different from what im used to, its going to take a while before i can beat anyone in this game(online that is), since im getting narrow wins playing intermediate(3 stars, right?) :p.

Aside from that im loving it so far! unpredictable and instinctive, dont have that feeling that i know exactly how my opponent is going to score against me and i cant do anything about it cause their players are better(yeah, i hate playing with the big name teams aka ManU, Barça, RM...spoils much of the fun most of the time :p).

Anyways, thanks for the warm welcome, and yeah i'll be sure to check the boards out and do thousands of stupid questions and creating thousands of pointless threads instead of using the search function, just like a good newbie should do ;)!(jk)

Feel free to make plenty of threads, especially in the general forums, it's always nice to see new discussion.

I agree with you about using the more lower rated teams, it makes the game and the use of strategies a lot more interesting to overcome the better teams.

My team at the moment is full of the original default roster, minus one 18 year old Serbian striker called Djúrúric or something like that. He's only rated 58 but he's young and I'm hoping he'll develop at a nice rate for me!

The man, nicknamed "O texugo" (aka "The Badger"), strikes fear into the opposition defence, with crisp Xavi-esq passing. Well.... if we're being truthful, it should be that Xavi passes the ball in a McCann-esq way!

Definitly on a league of his own and miraculously recovering from a knee injury and coming out of retirement just to help FCPorto win the CL this year! My dear God, how could i think that the deal was a rip off?! shame on me for soiling one of the most glorious names to ever grace the lawn fields of the beautiful game.

Jokes aside, im really suprised the world attention is on Hulk and Falcao. If i were to state the most important players on FCPorto i would have to say Alvaro Pereira and Moutinho. Falcao would be right next to those two since he can score beautiful headers from nothing(though he misses the easy goals)!

Also i dont think falcao would do great in the PL...though he's positioning and jumping power are quite superb i dont think his building is enough to compete with the monster CB from PL. Hulk on the other hand would do wonders there! i really cant wait till we sell him to some major PL club for 40-45M or something(a man can dream right? if we just do good in the CL this year) to see his speed and power break the defence to pieces! Looking forward to it

Well, physique isn't everything when it comes to the PL. I mean, look at how well Javier Hernandez has done for Utd this season! Falcao's movement and positioning is excellent, no reason why he can't produce the goods in the PL.
Moutinho is a great player. I've always liked him. I don't know too much about Pereira, but I thought he looked good for Uruguay in the WC (he's the guy with the dreadlocks, right?).

I know it isnt just about physique but lets be honest, when you think physical football you cant help but to think about the PL.

And although i dont watch the PL nowadays(mainly because i cant find a bloody web site that streams the match with a minimum amount of fluity) i think Chicharrito and Falcao are diferent kinds of forwards.

Guess one will have to wait and see, he'll be out of FCPorto in 2012/2013 Season for sure(if not earlier). If he goes to PL we'll see who's right ;) (no hard feelings haha, falcao is a genius of heading so he might really pull it off!). Despite of how good he will be i still think that he would be even better in La Liga :p

Yeah, alvaro pereira is the one with the dread locks, come to think of it he is really not that amazing of the player(despite being quite great!), but since we dont have any decent subs for its place we really miss him when he's not playing.
