Newbie here, and have some questions

I've played PES since PES 5, still quite new to the PES series actually, since I never played them seriously. However, now I want to step up my game and learn more about PES (mainly because I got a Logitech Rumblepad 2 as a gift, hehe)

1.
What does this little colour stripe mean?

2. I've read before on the forums that L1 + Circle / L1+ another button triggers some sort of strategy. How can this strategy be set in game? Any recommendations on using these strategies for attack/defense? I use Man Utd btw.

3. If I start a new Master League campaign, and along comes this fully edited, eye-catching-mouth-watering option file, what will happen to my master league campaign if i use the option file? For example if I start my Master League now without updated rosters, once I use the option file, will all squads update their rosters automatically? How about become a legend mode?

4. This may sound kinda stupid, but how does one do a flip-flap? This video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYcnCWek4aw has been watched countless of times by myself. It says that I need to push diagonal right then diagonal left, but it just won't work.

If I start a new Master League campaign, and along comes this fully edited, eye-catching-mouth-watering option file, what will happen to my master league campaign if i use the option file? For example if I start my Master League now without updated rosters, once I use the option file, will all squads update their rosters automatically? How about become a legend mode?

i think the option files are basically your pes profile. if you download a new one it will overwrite your old one, statistics and all. you could download it to a new profile and see if it is worth overwriting your own with.

What does this little colour stripe mean?

It's the team's mentality. It has 5 levels:

1. Offensive
2. Offensive/Moderate
3. Moderate
4. Defensive/Moderate
5. Defensive

By default it's set to change it automatically but you can turn into manual mode in the menu options:

Set Tactic/Controller Support/Change Match A/D levels

And change it to manual. To change it while playing:

L2+R1 = increases (ofensive)
L2+R2 = decreases (defensive)

It's actually L2+ whatever strategy you choose. If you go to Formation Settings on the team select menu, and then Tactics, and then Gameplan, you can select certain strategies to be set using this technique. You can fit 4, each on the X.B,Y, and O button's respectively (or, as in the case of your gamepad, playstation buttons). You assign a certain skill to each button, and then use them in the game. For example, if losing late on, use the Centre Back overlap to bring one of your centre backs up front, or use the Counter Attack if you are defending, as your wingers will stay up as well as your striker. To use them whilst playing, simple press L2+ the corresponding button and it will indicate in the bottom left or right corner.

I've started many ML's, and then got an option file. It will usually be best to start a new one, but it doesnt affect it that much.

Make sure that you are using the D-pad, not the analogue stick. You have to be very fast with it, and only certain players who are very skillful can pull it off. Practise in Training; turn off all players except say, Ronaldo, and just play about with the skills. You'll be using them in no time

I have a problem with this as I have set up my tactics, assigned them to buttons etc and used them in a match. (this is in Master League). But I can't save them to be able to load them and use the tactics in another game?

For some reason when I go to the Data Management section, the save option is greyed out.....this is on the PC version and my HDD has GB's of space free...! Help!
