Newbie questions about WE7IJ editing. Let me see if I have this straight.

Let me start by saying that I hate this site. Its sites like this that keeps me from playing the games I love because I'm too busy spending time and money trying to wring a little more realism out of them. Wait a minute, thats the reason I love this site. Never mind what was said earlier.

Let me see if I have this straight, to patch WE7 I need:

1) WE7 (Japanese version)
2) a modded PS2
3) various programs for my PC
4) a CD/DVD burner
5) files for patching the originals

Is that it or am I leaving something out? Also, after looking through the patches such as the ads, balls, kits, etc, do I need to download all of those individually and patch them that way or does Wendetta's patch files contain all of those things?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi there.
I assume you want to patch WE7:IJ and not WE7?
WE7:IJ is a much better game (I think so and quite a few others do too although some disagree).

Right then. This is what you need, as you've mentioned:
1. WE7:IJ - the original of the game which you can rip to make an image of to patch.
2. A chipped or modded PS2 to play import/patched games.
3. Patching programs which are all mentioned in the patching guides and should be free and simple to get.
4. I use a simple CD-burner and 700MB CDRs. I've never burnt onto a CDRW yet and don't think I will need to in the near future. Don't think you'll need a DVD burner or burning onto DVDRs either but some people may want to.
5. Patches such as those made by Wendetta or jonboyo.

If you want to personalise a patch, you can add different ads, balls, kits, etc as you wish manually. The Wendetta and jonboyo patches certainly do contain modified balls, ads, kits, menus, music, boots, goal nets and so on. If you don't like them you can change them but this needs certain editing followed by burning of a new CDR with your new files.

Checking out this thread by bish bosh may help and I think it's all explained quite simply in there too.
Good luck and do ask questions if you have them -but we'd prefer it if you ask them in the relevent threads if they already exist :)
