"The DFL German Football League, launched in 1998 is the successful partnership with Electronic Arts in interactive entertainment products:

The company buys for three and a half years (01/01/2012 to 06/30/2015) the exclusive rights to the "Match-simulation offline/online", the "management simulation for Professional Offline" and the "e-sports league", the virtual simulation of a Bundesliga competition".

This news doesn't come as much of a surprise, considering the incredible financial figures of the huge force that is EA, compared to Konami. Naturally, it's sad to see more evidence, suggesting that money is everything in this world.

Nevertheless, if you think like me, you'll know this news is far from the end of the world.

I believe licenses are overrated. As long as Konami continue to provide us with decent, quality PES titles, the fanbase won't moan about missing the German league. I'd happily play a completely unlicensed Pro Evolution Soccer title, as long as the gameplay was the superior - in my opinion.

And of course, the dedication of the option file creators isn't exactly going to disappear. So like me, we'll overcome this issue and download an option file with an added Bundesliga - plus more!

As long as we get a quality Edit mode each year, Konami and their fans will have no problems.

Agreed. With the new import data feature those that have created the Bundesliga will in theory have 15 of the 18 teams for PES 2012. Konami did a great job of allowing you to implement the created league in the ML and BAL. Konami can do us fans a greater service by putting more Bundesliga players into the PES shop then what they currently have. Or at the very least include the Bundesliga teams that will be participating in the Champions and Europa League.

Konami can do what they don with the Premier League: fake emblems, fake kits, but with real players. Or at least fake player names, like national teams.

^^ I would expect that would be the case, but I'm not entirely sure.

If it was, then why the hell did Konami stop putting in the "fake" full Bundesliga?

I would love a return of this though!

Right, they're not allowed to even put the fake League in PES.

But it's no problem, I dont need a licensed BuLi.

thats what ive heard
PES 6
due to a lawsuit, Konami were forced to drop the Bundesliga license. The only Bundesliga team to appear in the game is FC Bayern München.

Even Sega can't get the licences for Football Manager to show the German national squad, like others are saying, PES wasn't built on licences! For as long as we have better gameplay that any other football game, it will be played, as great people work on creating option files for us to make our games official. It would make matters much easier for these people, unless they like to sit and make them, then fair play to them, we appreciate their work.

PES's reputation and fan base wasn't built on licenses.

Your spot on, but the One thing(gameplay) that made Pes famous is on the deteriorating. So if you look at it this way- the one thing that Pes prides itself in since it's inception is deteriorating instead of Evolving. Adding to that still no licenses...... Well, you do the mats. Somewhere along the line people are going to get fed up with PES and Konami.

We need change.As quickly.
P.S. I just smashed my one and only controller last night. I guess I am going to be with out gaming for a couple of months sins I don't have money for another controller.

I think the stadium creator is pretty good this year. Although yes, I'm looking for improvements for PES 2012.

As long as PES2012 retains the ability to import previous game data a missing Bundesliga shouldn't be too much of a problem.

It'd be fantastic if Konami could give us more slots to create teams too.

And also try to negotiate a deal with Microsoft blah, blah, etc... I've said this too many times on here! :D

I don't really care about Bundesliga and would never play it. Its enough to have 1-2 teams from Germany like Bayern and Bremen for Champions League and Europa League. Instead Konami should increase teams from other countries of Europe and at least make a full line up for the Champions League. They didn't put Bursaspor in the game even though they were the Champions in Turkey last year.

I just hope KONAMI keep the UEFA licenses, makes ML even more epic than it already is and KONAMI know how to use licenses, EA's shitty excuse for single player mode does not deserve the CL license. I would like the Russian league added.
