"The DFL German Football League, launched in 1998 is the successful partnership with Electronic Arts in interactive entertainment products:
The company buys for three and a half years (01/01/2012 to 06/30/2015) the exclusive rights to the "Match-simulation offline/online", the "management simulation for Professional Offline" and the "e-sports league", the virtual simulation of a Bundesliga competition".
This news doesn't come as much of a surprise, considering the incredible financial figures of the huge force that is EA, compared to Konami. Naturally, it's sad to see more evidence, suggesting that money is everything in this world.
Nevertheless, if you think like me, you'll know this news is far from the end of the world.
I believe licenses are overrated. As long as Konami continue to provide us with decent, quality PES titles, the fanbase won't moan about missing the German league. I'd happily play a completely unlicensed Pro Evolution Soccer title, as long as the gameplay was the superior - in my opinion.
And of course, the dedication of the option file creators isn't exactly going to disappear. So like me, we'll overcome this issue and download an option file with an added Bundesliga - plus more!
As long as we get a quality Edit mode each year, Konami and their fans will have no problems.
