Maybe because as with Capcom, Konami is a trusted childhood gaming company for us folks that grew up with the NES. EA on the other hand is a money grabbing corporation that could care less about the quality of their games aslong as they sell.

I suppose the champions league mode could really make this game...you know like having the players coming out to the champions league music!

Personally, it won't be long until I start skipping the intro and getting straight into the games.

It's not like many people still have every copy of PES and ISS ever released. I'll be trading in PES2008 for either PES2009 or another game.

That reminds me, the new songs are pretty good. They even play the old cheesy PES2008 music over the tannoys at the beginning of a match. Also, the chants seem to be a lot better, if not too drawn-out. There's generally a better atmosphere in matches.

Hit, in my eyes. Can't type a big review because my cat is asleep on my left arm.

Played four games so far, all were fairly close affairs, which may mean that Top Player will again be too easy once I get used to the game.
Tackling - I'm not sure where people are coming from when they say the refs are awful, I think the defending is well improved and I've made a couple of brilliant saving tackles with my last man.
Goalkeepers - far better too. I've only seen one spill, but it was from a fizzer of a shot and didn't seem unrealistic as he parried it wide of the six yard box.
My main gripe is I havn't got the hang of that final killer ball yet, too often I've hit the last defender, played it behind my attacker, or to the wrong person. Still, just my first impressions, but I'm liking the overall feel of the game so far. Now hopefully I can resist the temptation of hammering the demo, and wait for the final game to come out.

Wow you thought I wouldn't know the Konami code I love that most of the games are new konami ones, didnt you play the classics?
