When I read about all your problems with CPU, I really feel like the best. And I am my friend, trust me I am.Someone has to be.

At least I am able to shoot and head ... But it's okay to have some convidence but don't overdrive it my friend. I just don't believe that you play 6* simply because you say that headers all go over the goal and shooting looks like shite and it's not possible to shoot normal. I don't have a problem with that, so thats kindda strange isnt it? But seriously now;

How is it possible that you think WE8 is that easy. Because for me PES3 is the easy one here. And believe me, I master the game, played some tournaments in the local pub so I know. But somehow WE8 is more difficult for me. My mates played every single WE/PES possible also and they feel the same way.

It's not completely bad, it's just missing some parts.

Id hate to admit it but I agree...WE8 is a great game...but it is a step back...and I dont just mean the slow down...Im talking about the gameplay...the balance is too skewed on the offence...this becomes obvious when u use the "great" club/nationals

As much as I dont want it to be so...but 6* is piss easy when using talented teams....using Inter I beat Milan, Arsenal, Madrid etc 5-0 and Milan 6-0...with my players on green and thiers on orange...

the game is more even if I was using Real Sociaded or Blackburn so Im playing with these at the moment

now this is just the single player game...obviously human opponents are a lot more challenging and unpredictable so I cannot criticise the game there...what Im getting at it is as a single player game it is a step back compared to the past editions...but again like many others would agree its true beauty and challenge lies when playing human opponents

through balls and gaps in defences (on the CPU are far too easy ) a lot can agree that the game has lost a lot of its build up play and becomes too up/down...far too easy to carve through a defence rather than methodically trying to break it down

again I must repeat that playing human opponents the game is at its best...I love how its unforgiving in regards to you skill when it comes to adjusting att/def mentality...have yours on red while defending and your sure to be punished

I don't think the game is perfect because it isnt. That's okay, and for me it is not a step back. I think it is better than PES3/WE7. I'm not saying this because of the hype of the game, but because I really do think so. It doesn't matter to me if the rest of this world don't like it, but I do. And I played all of the PES/WE/ISS games to the bone. So it's not like I am some kind of newbie or a "mainstream" gamer. You say that WE8 is the best and most realistic game on the market but it's a step back. So that means that for you WE7/WE7I is the best?

Having just had my first bash at the master league I have to say it's been improved quite considerably.

The main thing I like is the ability to start with a blank team (FC Cosmo) and edit everything about them, being able to change the kits etc every season is very lifelike too. On pes3 I had to keep PES United edited to be my custom ML team but now that isn't necessary.

Wow it's been a few weeks since i posted ANYTHING about WE8. I guess i can give some more full impressions.


Well, first off i hope all of you remeber my first impressions and how I said that WE was always about being able to score from anywhere for me. the ability to just run down and shoot from practically anyway is what most appeals to me about the game. yes the game has great defense tactics(esp. now) and yes the game has a great a passing system but it's always been the shooting for me. I've played tons of exhibition matches(still holding out on a great patch that includes Fernan's wonderful 6.0 patch) and I can say without hesitation that this game still allows me to score from anywhere. If I had an xport ,if I had a video connection with my PS2 I'd show you some of my shots on goal. Truly awesome and random as well from ALL angles of the goal /net The new passing system is a joy to use. Overall this is a game I'm starting to like more and more each time I play it. PES4 is rumored to have the slowdown fixed. Though I DO find it problem playing in certain stadiums (even with 1 star on both) it does not make it a inferior game as it has to some. To be honest i've had friends over to play it(that played WE6:FE AND WE7:I (US) ) and they see very little slowdown even when i see it. So it must be a personal thing if it bothers you I guess. Again, all and all a great progression in the series.

League standings and results, when controlling all the teams, are corrupted after a few saves. Is this common to any of you guys? Try it and you´ll see what i´m talking about. Imagine this: we played three rounds in the dutch league, where we controlled each 9 teams .With Ajax ,my results were 3:1 vs vitesse, 4:2 vs utrecht and 2:0 vs heerenveen; with Ibrahimovic scoring 4 goals and topping the goalscoring chart. When i loaded the competition to continue with my mate, we checked the rankings and Ajax had only 7 pts, but the goal difference was correct and Ibrahimovic had his tally also correct. It had the 4:2 vs Utrecht transformed into a 0:0, and as we noticed then ,this error was not the only one.The results were corrupted and the charts also. THIS DOES NOT happen when playing a league alone. I´ve played all the licensed ones and it never happened...
WHAT THE F*** is that Konami????? Please people check it out....

Although the game is great and improvements have ben made, I hate the fact that players can run form behind you, make u stumble and then take the ball off you when you are clearly going to get away from them(plus ive never seem a footballer stumble like tht,but it happens allthe time in we8) In real football this is a foul, yet in WE8 it seems like an important feature in the tackling area. PLayers seem far to light weight. Long shots have improved, along with player animations and master league is a lot bettter then previously. Had a few dodgy keeper things where keeper moves out of way of backpass and lets it in. Not as great a step as PE2 to PE3 was, PE3 in my opinion still being the best.

Could you explain more about this blank team? Is it just a blank space for a team which you can edit for a truly custom ML squad or something?

we8 is really sluggish..i press x to pass but it doesnt do it straight away...the game never flows..the slightest touch and its a foul....long shots are dodgy...the freekick where two people are over the ball is pointless.....volleys hardly work.....players knock the ball too far ahead of them and seem to jog after the ball.........them are my hatreds towards the game....if them are fixed in pro 4 then i will be happy

pes 4 is class went gamestars and played the fouling was very funny but not when my player was on the recieving end and the other player got a friendly pat on the back

theres more the goalkeepers are still a bit dodgy but improved more when the keeper comes out to collect the ball sliding along the ground he still spills it aswell

I hate the fact that when I played WE7 with my friends when I get away from the defense and going one on one with the goal keeper my friend would slide from behind and take me down that he would get in 80% cases just a yellow card and sometimes even nothing and my 100% goal scoring situation would be stopped!
I hopped that in WE8 they would change that but they didn't..., it sucks...

I got we8 a few days now, played it a lot, and i can say it's a major disappointment for me. Like dean7879 said, it never flows. Of course there are major improvements like the much better graphix, animations, kits, clubs etc. But the most important thing for me, the gameplay of course, has taken a big step backwards. The passing is a disaster. The players never pass as quickly as you would like. Only the one touch pass works well. And the fact that by far the most passes are with the outside of the foot is just a joke. Why is that? It just isn't realistic. And then the shooting. In pes3 i could blast a shot from outside the box into the top corner of the goal (of course with a bit of luck there) In we8 if i try to perform the same shot the ball just goes at middle hight into the goal at a unsatisfying low speed. Even when a have the powerbar full the speed of the ball is much to low.
I REALLY hope they have improved this in pes4. If not i'll stick to pes3 (where the shooting and passing is like it supposed to be)
