the offsides are really anoying because i hate when it is last minute and you play a through ball and you are about to get it then you get called offside that is what rthe only fault in the game is.

Anyway, that's besides the point. The new offside rule (thanks Fifa) is a bloody pain in this game.

But at least I can make my player boot the ball away anyway and not get booked for it.

Not as annoying as in real life though. I play left back and having to chase a through ball all the way to your own 18 yard box for the ref to blow for offside is rather frustrating, and knackering.

yea the new offside rule is a joke. totally pointless and an absolute waste of everyones time and energy. and in pes5 its almost even more annoying especially when you look at the replay and your onside anyway. thanks konami, for being able to piss me off more than almost anything else in the world.....ever

Not Konami, FIFA. They've implemented the new offside rule. Konami just went by the new rule.
They should never have changed the offside rule in the first place IMHO.

Off the topic a bit but offside gets on my tits. Someone needs to tell Konami that level is not offside. You may say that's realism but I'd be happy if it was inconsistant;this happens every single time. I like the inconsistancies of the refs when they give penalties for fouls that happen a yard or so outside the box.

I didn't catch that...

I think it's not so much the rule that annoys me, it's the fact that the strikers spend too much time offside and make their runs too early. Maybe this is PES making the defense move up faster to make it harder?

sometimes i dont hear it tho and i score a goal that i needed to and then the piss me about with the gay linesmans flag

yea but to be fair fifa seem to have got it right. i played that game for a month before i played pro5 and the offsides never annoyed me in fifa like they do in pes5.

and theres no way the offsides in pro are "realistic" being onside and getting flagged offside is not realistic, especially when it seems to happen 9/10 times.

if konami want realism, have an inconsistant linesman, so that sometimes your allowed to play on when really you were a yard offside, not overly strict linesmen that put the flag up when you've timed your run to perfection. thats just a pisstake and a cheap way of making the game harder.

An offside trap is never as good as it is when executed by yourself I just love being able to decide when or if my D line should move up. Of course, when failed the opponents will have some scary breakaways
