Oh Konami, what have you done!?

Well, at least in PES 4 you needed to press a button to commit a foul. You don't even need to do that anymore!

lies you had the run into eachother foul on pro evo 4 and yes its annoying but a small prob that can be avoided by simply not sprinting into other players cos in real football thats a shoulder barge and a foul. Konami have done a great job of making it realistic its up to you to be good at it.

Heh, I think most people agree it's too easy to get a foul. It's realistic I guess, everyone dives nowadays, so it must be good

The thing I don't like about PES5 isn't the ease with which you get a foul (though that might be toned down) but the risklessness of it. It's easy enough for me to play without fouling, but the incentive isn't there; I can tie up a CF like crazy to draw a foul and I will rarely get any kind of booking. Makes it too easy to take the wind out of your opponent's sail.

Pires, Savage, Ronaldo, Ze Roberto & Petrov - Some of the players that will turn football into a non-contact sport like Golf...

It's disgusting isn't it? In the good ol' days there wasn't any of this intercontinental faggotry.

I only play 5* and most of the time I only win by 1 goal. My best ever is 5-0 and when that happened, i was screaming like mad! thats what soccer is about! "a win is a win, i couldnt care less" - Jose Mourinho.
I dun re-play any games I lose coz I hardly do, worse would be a 2-2 draw. How can I score 3-1 against Chelsea and 1-1 against Fulham. Formation and tactics guys! dun be lazy to change ur formation and get ur players moving!
If you dun, just shut up and dun play! Simple as that! U can always send me ur CD if u dun wanna play anymore....
hahahahahahahaha

Every time we start playing a new PES we need to take our time to adapt and learn to play and enjoy the game. I understand the people who complaint about PES5 and i think its normal.

I mean we obviously had a lot of fun with PES4 and were ilusioned to play and enjoy PES5. However, since the gameplay its a little different, some of us dont longer enjoy it as PES4, but its only because we have played PES4 many times and we are familiar with its gameplay.

When PES4 came out some people didnt like it and prefered PES3 i guess it was because of the same reason, they got used to playing PES3 and didnt want any change.

Maybe we dont like to stop playing a game that was so much fun like PES4. Its just a matter to get used to play PES5 be able to enjoy it, if not well keep playing PES4 they are almost the same game.

Online play its a big difference but i really enjoy playing againts the cpu because well, the variants are infinite. Master League, World Cup, etc. And there are so many teams, i mean each team with good players to enjoy and learn!! I mean is there anyone out there who has played with every goddamn team in PES4?? Plus u got the editing tools i mean it just a so complete game. I dont know you but i like to enjoy soccer games to their full extent. What im trying to say its that PES4 and obviously PES5 are games that even without online play i would play them all my life, i wouldnt get tired of them, i would try to play with every team, i would edit names, transfers, to resemble actual rosters, i would edit jerseys, etc. As is said its a game for a lifetime.

I played International Superstar Soccer 98 for the N64 for almost 6 years and i enjoyed that game very much, i chose a team, edited thier names numbers and i would play a World Cup and then do the same for another team. Never got tired of it until i finally decided to try on WE/PES on ps2. Im sure i will have no hurry in buying ps3, I will play PES5 or WE9 for a long time.

I am not even going to comment on that other guys remarks about the game, especially when he starts by saying he doesn't want the game to be realistic :shocking:

Heh, people are saying PES5 is better because they can't dribble past the whole opposition anymore. This is fine when you play the AI game, but tbh I play a few hours every week of 4 player, and PES4 is far superior when playing with real people.

I have been playing 4 player games recently and I love it. And I actually find that dribling past human-players is just as easy as in PES 4? And slowing down and not running all the time even helps against com-players (which is still hard but I find that an improvement compared to PES 4).

Haha, dribbling is far far easier in PES 4, I think most people will agree. In PES 5 you can just push someone over to get a foul if you want, which is what happens most of the time.

Yeah I agree with you.....dribbling is far more easier in PES4 but is it realistic...NO! PES5 has become more difficult to dribble and that's realisme my friend. In PES4 you could easily run across the midfield and even go run to score. It's almost impossible now to do that.

Sorry, but I'd rather be able to run all the way across the pitch than being pushed over every 5 seconds. It's only realistic because so many people dive nowadays, which is not a good thing.

4/ It's now actually impossible to sprint away from any player. No way should Dennis Bergkamp be able to keep up with Roberto Carlos. That's just ridiculous.

I Agree, With That, I Kinda Got Use To it Now But It Seems Unrealistic Though When I Cant Use Someone Like C Ronaldo To Sprint Away From The Likes Of Cygan but like i said, GET USE TO IT

7/ Penalties... oh dear!! I know it's a lottery but come on! I press the button only and sometimes the ball just balloons over the bar. I mean... HOW EXACTLY!!?

this could be fixed with a powerbar for a penalty and thats all, BUT GET USE TO IT

are you a pro evo fan or not. Pro evo is not like fifa where as you can score too easily, and what's wrong with a challenge every hour and then. Are you a wimp or something?

No man you're exadurating a bit. How come I don't fall every 5 seconds? Annyway PES 5 could also have some things in the gameplay that can be improved but still its waaayy better then PES 4 and Fifa together

I don't know, I play on 5* and I usually have an army of AI players hunt me down like the Terminator when I have the ball.

I've got the game sussed now. Played 15 Won 15 on 6* with Liverpool. Fair enough they are a good team so I've started a Default ML with Auxerre. Played 6 Won 5 Drawn 1. Once you get the hang of it you are sorted.

Only some people I guess... Ive had this game for 2 weeks and have yet to score on my own... on the goal Im supposed to be scoring on. It seems that the opponent, be it computer or online opponent ALWAYS have people open, and can ALWAYS get away with cheap hits, whereas I only give the ball away with my passing, and cant look at the person on the ball without commiting a foul... Only reason I've yet to get rid of this game is my amazing sense of patience, which is about to run out. I liked 4/8 better.

My 2 cents.

Murc, just give it a bit of time. Try sorting out your formation, you say that the opponent always has people in space. Spread your formation out i find works. Gives you time to turn and play your next pass. And make sure you have like a network of progressive passes all the way up the field. I know you're probably already pretty good at PES4, but 5 is different. Try using R2 to turn when you first recieve the ball, then you'll be facing the right way for your next pass in the shortest time possible.

I still pretty much hate 70% of the match, but the 30% when you're attacking makes up for it.
