I was reading MumPleaser's thread below about abuse. The thread took a slight detour about older players online.

I'm 35+ and love PES and play online for a couple of hours every other night. It gets me jealous when these school kids get half terms & are online by 4:30 every day.

My girlfriend (other than nagging me 4 a wedding ring to go with the engagement ring I coughed up for) is always harrassing over my online playing.

I see a few players are in a similar boat (without a paddle). Well my online handle is TShill7 & can't wait play against some sensible, mature minded folk.

Keep enjoying PES5 - oh and that "Block Player" option online is a real Godsend!

Nice to hear that older players are still playing the PES/WE series. My girlfriend is always going on at me about retiring, hanging up my digital boots etc, but I just love it and I can't ever see myself stopping!

I have two kids as well so I find it very difficult to get online except for late at night around 11 o'clock so I am usually very tired by the time it's time for kick-off!

It would be nice to play a little internal 'Old Boys' tournament online eh? I don't know how we would regulate age etc but it would be good fun. We can maybe look into starting something like that?

you will give in eventually about the 2nd ring.i did.i tried last night for the first time to get online and it wouldnt work.i'll have annother blast tonight.our lass nags me about going on pes aswell but she will never stop me.

I'm in your boat mumpleaser. I'm 29 with two kids and love playing Pro Evo (as well as other games). The wife thinks I am insane, "It's not even real" is the usual response. How wrong can she be?

A little league between some of the old boys sounds good to me. i will def keep my eyes out for you guys. Is there a way to search for people to see if they are online? Or do we have to trawl for each lobby?

Should we all agree to at least go on the same server each time we play so we have more chance of hooking up?

If you press 'Start' and then go to 'Find Player' I think you can search for us via our names. It even tells you which lobby we are in and asks if you want to change to that lobby automatically.

Ok guys im only 22 though i like the sound of playing against some Descent people. Im not online at the moment but should be very soon as i have just moved into a new house with my girlfriend and Baby boy.

I think there's a few people on here who'd rather play PESInsighters rather than sundry idiots out there in online land.

I'd definitely be up for that! A PES "Vets" League or even a PES Insight League. Your suggestion gets my vote, backdoor. I'll also look out for you online on Thursday maybe when you're next on.

Nearly time to go home - at last. Why is it that work gets in the way of PES? Oh yes... so that I can afford to buy an XBox360/PS3 and get PES6!!!

I did look out for you last night. I only played 4 matches in between watching the Old Firm clash on Scottish BBC1. Won 2 & Lost 2 - very indifferent. I would've embarrassed myself had I played you. Maybe see you on tonight.

For everyone else.... keep registering your interest in an "Old Man's League!"

Please somebody be older than me....37! I'm from the generation who cannot get over the sense of being vaguely embarrassed that I play PC games...todays kids have no such hang-ups!

I have a 13year old who - can you believe this- doesn't like football...where did I go wrong? he has his own pc but I can't persuade him to take up the beautiful game,oh well.

Online league of olds sounds good- will it be something we will be able to set up after proper online leagues comes along in december?

Ah the commodore 64. Anyone play sensible soccer on the Amiga? that was the king of footy for years. Loved that game.

Its good that now we are all 'grown men' we have chosen mature game handles like mumpleaser and backdoor!

i say that as soon as we start playing each other it counts for the league. Actually no. Lets say as of next monday we can start keeping a count of who is playing and beating who and drawing up a league table. Its like being back at Uni on Tekken3.....

Oh yeah, are we all on PS2? COuld be a problem otherwise!
