I decided to get DVD decryptor like it says in the small guide in the first thread for how to apply th patch. Ive wasted two DVD's already and they both have same problem. So here is what I did please point out any mistakes so i can get the patch working:
i)Opened DVD decryptor, and clicked on mode and iso read. Created an ISO file of WE8.
ii)used apache 2 to extract the data_J.ASF from the created ISO. Then I used the PPF o matic program and in the first text box clicked on the floppy disk and selected the extracted data_J_ASF file and the second slot selected the OLé MiX LiTe V 0.1.ppf. and clicked on apply and waited for it to finish, it said patch applied. The data_J_ASF did not look like it had been changed at all, i assume the created data_J_asf had just been overwritten as the PPF program says nothing about saving
iii) After this, used apache again, right clicked data_J_ASF and chose update file. I used the updated/patched file that had just been created. Then I picked the OVER.AFS, SLPM_656.57 files and updated them too. are you meant to be able to save or sumthing in apache? as after updating the three files i just closed the apache program.
iv) i assumed that I had finished and using DVD decryptor i clicked on the mode and then iso write. After that i selected 1x in the bottom right corner for write speed and then in the source area i clicked on the iso created but it said that you shud use the .MDS file and that it had automatically picked it for me.
v) while burning on a blank DVD before the image is written it begins with a write speed but after about 30 seconds it falls to zero. But then it goes writing image and goes well above the 1x speed that i had picked earlier. The disc finsihes and i cannot eject the disc, the drive says that it has a audio CD in it and says used space and free space = 0. I put it into the PS2 and it goes past the browser and memory card screens and falls into a white screen saying no data with the circle button at the bottom and then moves into the red please put in a PS2 format disc screen.
This has happened twice, there is a small band of written data on the base of the DVD but it is no where near as large enough to have a WE8 written on it as the original WE8 which is around 2GB in size. Please help
