online play.whats it like?

its fine, no lag that ive seen and ive had about 10/12 games all day yesterday, however i do feel that the players are a wee bit more sluggish in online mode compared to jsut playing the game itself. maybe its just me but im sure someone will confirm or deny!!
I play pes 09 on a pc, I have 8mb internet.
And It really for me isn't that much better than 08.
It lags, loads, sometime it shows that a player has the ball the screen freezes and bam they have scored or are atleast close to my goal.
Players sometimes have hard reacher the ball, it just passes by them.
I think I played around 9 matches in totall. And 1 match only lagged a little bit.
Now I know the game is new and there is sometime for some changes, what scares me is that it will be same stuff like with pes 08. They throw in a patch to fix the lag, but the patch doesn't do jack shit.

remember also that yesterdays online games were palyed using test servers ,apparently the real mccoy doesnt get going till todays as its the official release date, i would expect it to get better over the weekend and up to full pelt, i genuinely didnt get any lag through my wireless connection on a ps3, however as i sated earlier i can relate to you in regards to you not feeling fully in control of your players sometimes:erm:

Had 2 games first was pretty laggy but to be fair it warned me the guy had a shit connection and the second was good with only the slightest bit occuring not very often.

Online Play Performance
I played 3 games yesterday night. IMO its much much better thab 2008. No lag. And it does warn you if the opponent has a shitty connection.
I was green and yellow for connection (I have no idea why I was yellow...I have a 4m connection) and still the online performance was pretty good.
I also think that the match room concept similar to the PES 6 is also good. I was hoping we could join to watch the ongoing game like before but it seems it is not to be.

ok first off its about your upload speed and not you download connection.
Secondly yes don't play people with red round icon flashing thats a very bad connection green is excellent and yellow is ok.
Let me also tell you that if other players have the ball next to their name and its more crushed that means they are more likly to quit the game , well done konami for this so now we can play matches with people that don't quit becuz they are losing.
Online has been excellent with me, but I have seen minor faults where that the players can be abit sluggish, e.g joe cole on the wing out he was fast then slow and this was at the start of the game.
And also I aint playing people who pick man u or barca, I like to use the lower teams and I can't stand thoses player who just pass to ronaldo or messi and play like its a one man game. knoobs

yep ill second that, ive only recently got my ps3 online so have only played maybe around 30 games between pes 08 and pes 09 and im already fed up of the glory hunters who use man utd and barcelona every time, i prefer to play folk who want to enjoy the gam erather than just "win at all costs by skinning the whole team w:fplm:ith ronaldo or messi)!!
