I am confused how these Rankings work, this may sound stupid but because I don't have a clue and need answers.

This is my brothers profile.

Games - 15
Wins - 3
Losses - 11
Points - 91
Division 3B

Rangers51 (me)

Games - 19
Wins - 10
Draws - 6
Losses - 4

Amateur

How can my brother, who can barely win a game be the division yet I am still an Amateur?

Because the divisions are updated every monday, perhaps he's had his account a few days longer?

Do you not get more points if you win against higher placed opposition?
I have no idea how it works and to tell the truth don't really care what league I'm in as it doesn't really matter. For the record though I'm in div 2 now after about 90 games - won, lost and drew about the same.

Yeah youdo, also if their more than 300 points in front of you and you draw with them you get points and the get points taken off

Ranking system is updated weekly, every monday.
The points u get for winning or drawing depents on the opponents rank, i never had experienced losing points when i drawed a game, no matter my opponents rank. But the higher ur rank is the less points u get for winning a match. I'm ranked about 400, even if i play someone ranked above me, i rarely get more then 60 points. Useally i get about 50 points now. My mate who is ranked 17(Wahid is his tag) , usually gets bout 40-45 points for a win.
The rankingsystem is quite weird, cause if u lose, you never lose more then 20-25 points. So 1 win is equal to 3 losses :S

Hey Rapidox, what's your online tag? I've looked you up a lot (as Rapidox) from last night to this afternoon but you haven't been on.
I'm ranked 106 now so i'll be worth playing (point wise) if you beat me.
When i lose, my opponents get at least 70 points, even if they're in Division 1.

Lol i was/am but i played again on friday since i had no exams today, meaning i had nothing to revise for. I played about 20 games and won like 17 of them, doing wonders for my ranking.

My record is getting a little better, I had got off to a bad start losing 15 in 50 but now I broke the 100 mark of games played and lost a total of 18. Im pushing for divison 1 but I've nowhere near the amount of games played yet that Id need to push that far up the table.

Your Division seems to be determined by the amount of games you have played doesnt it?

Absolutely, I had a look at the rankings and all the top players had played around 700-800 games. It'll take me to next summer to play all that unless I do what a lot of people do and just go for the 5 minute matches. Where's the fun in that though?

^^It might not be the best way to implement the league rankings, but how else could they have done it? It has to be based on points and you only get points by playing and winning games.

Otherwise, if it were done by winning % for example people will play once in a blue moon and win most and be highly ranked. That would be even worse IMO.
