I just think its bullshit what you guys are saying. So let me get this straight, just because a team has good players, I shouldn't use them?

I can't use:

Barca - cause they have Messi and Eto'o (Henry is just a bonus)
Milan - cause they have Kaka and Ronaldinho
Man Utd - cause they have Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo
Inter - cause they have Ibrahimovic, Adriano
Real - cause they have Robben, Sneijder
Chelsea - cause they have Drogba
Atletico - cause they have Aguero
Brasil - cause they have Pato, Adriano, Robinho, Kaka, Ronaldinho
Argentina - cause they have Messi and Aguero
Spain - cause they have Torres and Villa
Liverpool - cause they have Torres and Gerrard
Man City - cause they have Robinho
Sweden - cause they have Ibrahimovic
Cameroon - cause they have Eto'o
Arsenal - cause they have Adebayor
Nigeria - cause they have Martins (fastest player in the game)

...and the list goes on and on. Any of those attackers will do for a running game. Like I said, if you are really good, you can stop any team, no matter what your opponent chooses.

However, I do get when people want to play with mid-tier teams (e.g. Bolton vs. Reggina or the like). Then it's just stupid to use Barca. Yesterday, I was about to play the usual Chelsea vs. Barca, but I decided to go to for a different team and my opponent followed me. We ended up playing Sweden vs. Nigeria (finished 1-1). Good game and it was enjoyable.

Also, the reason why I stick to one team is that I want to be really good with that team. Then I'll move on to another team. Probably Italy or Milan.

What I am saying is that you are entitled to use your Elite Teams and good luck to you, Just please don't enter my game room when I have named said room:
SMALL/MEDIUM TEAMS ONLY PLS! and then choose AC/Barcelona. There are soooo many online gamers who choose the Top Elite Clubs - this is so boring for those who like to play as 'Middle Of The Road Teams'.

Generally I can handle top teams with Newcastle, but it is the same kids who choose the Top teams they all play the same way too! Example, Ronaldinho races down the wing cut back pass to Kaka who scores 2 yards out. BORING. GENERIC. TACTICS.

Whereas if I play Toon V Spurs it is much different game, passing, movement etc... not the generic tactic employed by 8/10 Barca Kids.

lets not get too personal here fella's. The point is a simple one - there are those of us, myself included, that try to play the game as it is no doubt intended - to reflect, as accurately as possible, the beautiful game.
There are also those that prefer to play the game simply to frustrate or improve their ranking, resorting to the kind of tactics that nearly EVERYONE can do. It requires comparably little skill to take a player like the ones being mentioned and score from the kick-off, or take the ball to the by-line and cut back for a close to guaranteed goal. Is it their perogative to do so? Of course it is. The argument, if there needs to be one, is surely is it worthy of the game or the spirit of competition? Draw your own conclusions..
I for one have a harsh time with lag online like many others so never play ranked matches but if I do encounter these types of players online I simply avoid them like the plague in the future.

I always play quick matches. So I have no idea what team my opponent is going to choose. Plus, I said if my opponent picks a considerably weaker team, I will too.

And I agree with the generic tactic. I don't use Barca for that.

However, there are some really devious kids out there!

I'll pick Liverpool cause i support them but i only use them if some ass hole is going to pick a top team other than that i dont really care who i am as long as its a good match which it wont be cause you guarantee you will end up playing Barcelona.
What pisses me of is if i pick say aston villa and then some sad ass picks Brazil whats the point that does really frustrate me

Have to agree with the majority here.

I've only just started playing this online, obviously in friendlies and I've lost every time, I'm not a bad player but yeah.

My team of choice is Napoli. Lavezzi is a damn good striker just lurking outside the obvious (as listed above). Hamsik makes for a tight midfield and they have Zalayeta (sp) as a SS.

Good times with my beloved Napoli.

good idea El Croz. about setting up match specific match rooms for middle/poor teams. unfortunately there is no getting round the 'win at all costs' merchants as they are entitled to play as who they like. Just good to see there are a few players out there who play the game in a sporting way.

if it's tactics/formations you're after forza have a look at the posts from a member called jMz in the hints and tips section of the forum. Sure they date back to earlier incarnations of the game but the principles still hold true.
