Opinions on new patch!

Ok having just installed the new patch i can generally understand what they have done, for some reason on medium and high detail the game generally slows down more than the v1.0, but on low detail it speeds up dramatically but not without problems visually ...the game runs perfect, but u get very foor frames per second and u can notice it dramastically the ball speeds along the ground and the players go a little blurry, also shadows have been removed from players, my final thoughts on it is....if you are having terrible speed problems with the game download the patch and stick it on low details you will at least be able to play the game with zero problems....if it works fine or close to...dont bother nothing to see here...dont fix what aint broke!!!

Definitely, that is why I am back with (and happy) to play v1.0 for now :) I also got sound looping for a 1st after installing the latest patch, and all my other games play fine apart from this latest version of pes3. v1.0 with Wolf's latest and greatest and Leo's balls LOL makes Bony a happy bunny :D :D

No, he's 100% right. There are crowd noises but the chants have gone... at least for all the games I have played.

For those people who don't have excellent PCs and that aren't total graphics-whores...then the patch is good! I got the game working on my laptop, runs well if occassionally a bit jerky (the framerate is never perfect, but generally acceptable, and most importantly the game plays well), and i then tried it on a pc, with an athlon 1.4 and an old kyro2 graphics card, and it runs very nicely (at low detail) with no slowdown at all (whereas before it didn't) even with the commentary left on.
Basically, if the game worked fine for you before hand, then don't install the patch and stop whining (general rule of thumb for patches is only install them if you're having problems). And if having a game run at max res, with full details and all the bells and whistles on is more important to you than the game...buy some better hardware.
but if you just want to play Pro Evo 3 on your PC, but it's too slow, try the patch and see if it makes it better.
i'm not excusing konami for a general botch job on the initial port, but they are atleast trying to correct the problems, this is the second patch they've released since the game came out.
as for the crowd thing, i've noticed that sometimes the crowd don't react straight away, but that's probably because the crowd would normally cheer at the games more hectic moments (such as in the goal area) which would cause even more slowdown...besides, the game ran so slow before this patch that i never could play long enough to get to a place were the crowd would cheer, so i know what i prefer...

After installing the second patch, sometimes when I try to exit out of the game, my computer restarts...when XP loads up, it says there's a problem with my ATI drivers...everything else on my PC works perfectly...I guess I'm going back to the original game.

This patch makes the config settings work and as a result I don't have to change the controller from keyboard to gamepad whenever I enter the game anymore, which is good.

I also experienced the slowdown described in a previous post. I have FRAPS installed and so I have observed that before the patch, the ingame fps is capped to 60 fps whereas after the patch, it's capped to 50fps.

I'm going back to the original installation. It worked perfect then (except for the keyboard-gamepad thing).

Regarding the gamepad problem, did you have it installed in the default c: directory ??
