I beg your pardon?
I had to post a boxing thread in the Off Topic forum cos I wasn't sure where to put it. Surely people on here are interested in more than just one sport?

Not a huge problem or anything, just a suggestion.

I'm happy to talk about any sport apart from cricket, curling, bowls, horseriding.... American Football is my 2nd favourite sport

Don't take offence but I'm not a big fan of American sports. They should play "football" without the pads, baseball is too slow, but I do love basketball, used to play for the school team.

They have to wear pads when there flying at each others bodies and faces at that speed. You don't get such speedy, powerful tackles in any other sport, thats why when an American Football player gets injured, there usually out for the season. Running backs have got to be one of the toughest positions in sport, they get hurt in every play basically but carry on.

By the way, i'm a Miami Dolphins fan, what about u Preki? ;)

I love Golf aswell, second favourite just after football. Many tournaments going on, Vijay Singh starting to show his form again, Els slipping down the rank table, many things we can talk about, Golf. It would be a nice addition. :)

Golf is a great sport, my favourite player has always been Sergio Garcia, I've no idea, I've just loved his attitude, and the way he plays!

I'm joined up at a club, but don't play all that often.

Obviously. Rugby is tough but you don't get the same powerful tackles, American Football players have more speed, and i don't see any Rugby players flying in head first to tackle someone. American Football player are better all round athletes

Original?

That is the biggest load of bollocks I've read in a while, and I've seen a few of sullivan's posts recently. Until you've been dumped by anyone off the back row, you have no right to say that the tackles in American Football are harder. Having played both, I'd say you get hurt just as much in each, but if I had to edge I'd go for rugby. You say that you don't go in head first, this maybe true but I rarely see that in American football, but in american football you don't some dirty prop forward digging the ball out with their boot while you're lying on the floor next to it. You also get tackles round the head in rugby, and without the helmet I will tell you it hurts a hell of a lot more.

In rugby if you don't come out hurt, you haven't played hard enough.
