Hi,
I'll get this out of the way first.. YES! PES5 is almost here!!!! :D :D :D
Right.. my question..
With the players that are on the PES series is it necessary to have an overall rating?

Or does the game become too easy to figure out who the best players are?
What i want to know is would PES benefit from the inclusion of this stat?
Also would it be good to have this on the team ratings too?

Konami have a little bit of a mix and match affair going.. simply because they use bars to display the teams ratings but numerical ratings for the players.. it would be kind of cool to sort of buy a good player and see your team numerical ratings go up.. I can never really tell on the bars unless I'm FC Den Bosch and buy 14 top players like Kaka, Rooney etc..then you can tell the bars have gone up..
Well just my thoughts and opinions on the subject..
What about anyone else?

Actually I kinda like the pentagon thing (is this what you meant by 'bars'). At a glance you'd tell the quality of the your/opposition team.

Also takes up less screen space. But's that's all like 'on paper' to me. Its during match that it really matters, and to me I feel that since this year the seems too be less noticible difference in the playing styles from team to team. Quite obvious in ML.

Different formations/tactics , yes. Different difficulty, yes. But Sunderland and Barcelona almost play the same way, only one is more effective than the other.

Cheers

The thing I like about PES is that there is no really overall rating, so you cannot say who is the best player. In this way the best player is something subjective which gives the game a good way of how it is in real-life.
Fifa (yea untill I got my ps2 i was fifa-fanboy :() uses a system in which you can see immediately who is the best which is no fun at all, so I keep finding the pentagon system of PES the best.
And I think in real-life you cannot measure a team's status, however you cannot measure a player's status too. But being able to measure your team's status would be exaggerated because you just simply cannot in real-life.

Bar Ratings Overall

PES5 Is here  ..
I wanted to see what everyone thought about the ratings systems.. I do like the PES one.. like already pointed out.. Its better for the ML system so you cannot tell immediately who's better overall.. and thinking about it honestly.. I cannot see the point of it .. i mean.. its not really an ability as such is it?
I think the teams should have a collective overall rating.. but hey.. they don't so i'll just have to stick to the bar system.. its not all bad.;)
