If you have something constructive to add, like a reason why which ever one is better, please do so. And, if anyone has a link to a thread containing some ways to better one's skills at dribbling moves, that'd be nice to have posted as well.

PS- Before you get all pissy about my thread, I tried searching for these things. But for every different attempt I made to find such things, the same results came up. All of which were perfectly useless.

I've polled stick as better, because i'm guessing you get more control over the movements. Personally i use the dpad on the ps2 controller, despite i have the xbox version of the game and a ps2>Xbox converter.
It's because of this i dont use the stick often because with the converter it makes the analogue movements very dodgey/unconstant.. sometimes they work, sometimes they dont. But i find the dpad works fine, though i'd like to one day be able to use the stick.

y did you vote for stick then :S

the d pads better, mayb for future games the stick will become first choice... the day you get full 360 movement lol

I'm pretty damn sure that the D-pad is superior in every way to the analog stick. The trouble is that there is no difference between the actual control between the two, meaning that the analog is still limited to 8 way movement. Because of this, the analog is just a sloppier version of the d-pad.

Dpad is more precise and I'm 95% sure that you don't lose anything control wise by using the pad instead of stick.

That is the only thing I absolutely hate about this game. Thats it. Well that, and I cant get used to using pad either, and from what Ive read thats how you do half of the damn dribbling moves. So that puts my game at pass (on the ground) and move... and thats it. Pretty one dimensional.. that'd explain why Im so crap at this game.

I thought i was the only one. All the r and l buttons get fucked up after i while. I'm on my 3th new controller in a year time. Every time my controller becomes some kind of music instrument because of that rattling:angry:

Oh and d pad is better:)

I'll be a D-Pad man forever ... the result of playing consoles since the NES days!

I don't mind using the analogs for games that you have to use them for such as Prince of Persia, but I never use them if I have a choice.

My R and L buttons are all busted up too and I've got the rattling thing goin on in every one. But then again, I have been known to throw them out of frustration!

I prefer pads to sticks.
The time taken to change directions using pads is shorter than that using sticks. For eg, while pressing right (direction) and you want to stop that, you simply need to release your thumb from the pad. But for stick, you need to revert it back to neutral position. The difference in the time involved may be minimal but could matter a lot in terms of finesse in control.
My 2 cents...

I prefer the pad as you its easier to points the player in the exact way u wat him 2 go and its more fluid than the directioanl pad

andy, if you unscrew the pad and give it a shake a little piece of plastic will drop out. this gets stuck under the r1 button and stops it working. mine is fine now (after i brought a new pad!)

Stick rules all day long. The D-pad came out with the NES 20 years ago. Its out of date people - time to move on and embrace the future....
