o man. that asikin is an idiot. even if it is illegal its not as if konami are gonna sue THIER OWN FANS of the game for patching the god dam thing. i dont think for one second konami could care less about patching. only people who could get annoyed are probably sponsors like vodafone or nike or summat and even then i dont think they would sue for a non profit making fan user based patch maker

If someone uses those sponsors in their game, it's free advertising and they can't complain about that!

Konami were send a patched version of WE6:FE not so long ago and they were impressed - they even made a few changes based on the patch. They got rid of the "Goal Kick" and "Corner" writing everytime the ball goes off the pitch.

That purple page is making me dizzy and I have to keep taking breaks from looking at it!

It seems that a number of the 'patching experts' are having much more trouble breaking down WE7 to make it patchable than they did with previous versions of WE (I keep reading about problems with encrypted files, particularly).

I'm generally ignorant about this sort of stuff, but should this be read as Konami trying to make it more difficult to patch? Are they trying to throw up roadblocks? Or is something else going on here?

who cares if patching is illegal, so is recording a song off the radio. I break the law every day and it feels great.

People download music, record of the radio and copy and sell games. They cant catch all the people who do that.

I think this guy is crazy. Without the possibility of patching the game many peoble wouldn't buy it. I think Konami is happy about patching, so they don't have to waste their money for licenses.

Yeah thats true. If they enjoyed the patched version, id doub they will persue any legal action if any one is caught.

How can patching be illegal when done for private use? If you were to patch a game and then flog off hundreds of copies down the market to make money then fair enough. But if you download a file off the internet to modify a copy of a game you have paid for then i really dont see the problem.

I couldnt have said it better myself. If Konami supposedly liked it then I dont know why they have included a maliculous code so know one can patch. Like Jamez says, if its for our own personal use then it should be acceptable.

Since it isn't losing Konami any money, I doubt they're bothered but since some patches contain official team strips/badges/names, I'd have thought EA would be the ones looking into the legalities and trying to stop the patching, since they had to cough up the dough for licenses to get them into their game.

True. FIFA should feel threatened as PES has the better graphics and a better game with all the kits once patched.
