@rg11 - i'm using frenchchronik patch also, and i did param_dat_27 and i mixed with cs.img from steveomilan, and replace unnamed_25.bin, but i couldn't get epl kits at all, is there anything wrong with what i did? and also how to replace files one by one in cv_0 as some people said and done (if you only want to get kits), because i tried by using GGS program but it didn't allow me to replace (like click and drag) and i don't know how to extract cv_0.img either, help me please!

ivan_fk2002 - There are a couple different ways to do it, but below are step-by-step instructions for the method I used. It might look like a lot, but it's been tested and works.

What you need:

- Clean PES iso
- FrenChronik cv_0 and cv_1
- Game Graphic Studio
- AFS Explorer

1. Create two folders on your desktop called "FC Insert Files" and "ISO Files".

2. Open FrenChroniK's cv_0 in AFS Explorer (File -> Import AFS File -> Change "file type" to "all files"). Say 'no' to any prompts.

3. Highlight and export (right-click -> Export) the following files to the "FC Insert Files" folder on your desktop...

unnamed_3145.bin - unnamed_3220.bin
unnamed_4169.bin - unnamed_4244.bin
unnamed_7915.bin - unnamed_7952.bin
unnamed_8118.bin - unnamed_8119.bin

4. Download this file, and extract it to your "FC Insert Files" folder.

http://files.filefront.com/Dummy+Kitsrar/;10045028;/fileinfo.html

5. Download this file and extract it to your "FC Insert Files" folder. (This will over-write 3 files already in the folder, so say 'yes' when it asks to confirm the over-write)

http://files.filefront.com/Alternatesrar/;10046412;/fileinfo.html

Your "FC Insert Files" folder should now have 308 files in it. Close AFS Explorer.

6. Open your clean PES iso in Game Graphic Studio.

7. Click on cv_0, and say 'no' to the prompt. Then right-click cv_0 and export it to your "ISO Files" folder. Do the same for cv_1. Close GGS when you're done.

8. Open the cv_0 from your "ISO Files" folder in AFS Explorer. (Again, say 'no' to any prompts.) At the top, click "Advanced" then "Modify reserved space".

9. When the "Reserved Space" window opens, change the following values...

- For all of the files between unnamed_4169.bin and unnamed_4244.bin, change "bytes reserved for file" (in the top right) to 32768.

- For all of the files between unnamed_7953.bin and unnamed_8068.bin, change "bytes reserved for file" to 2048.

- For all of the following files, change "bytes reserved for file" to the number next to them...

unnamed_7917 = 51200
unnamed_7918 = 45056
unnamed_7919 = 55296
unnamed_7920 = 59392
unnamed_7921 = 67584
unnamed_7922 = 65536
unnamed_7925 = 81920
unnamed_7926 = 65536
unnamed_7929 = 67584
unnamed_7930 = 63488
unnamed_7931 = 43008
unnamed_7937 = 47104
unnamed_7947 = 63488
unnamed_7948 = 47104
unnamed_7952 = 51200
unnamed_8118 = 1083392

10. When you're done modifying the reserved space, click "Regenerate AFS!". After the save window opens, change "save as type" to "all files" - then put "REGEN.img" in the file name box, and click "save". When it's done, click "ok" and close the "reserved space" window.

11. Open the REGEN.img you just created in AFS Explorer. At the top, click "Action" then "Import folder". When it asks which folder you want to import, choose your "FC Insert Files" folder and click "ok". It will then ask if you want to rebuild the file so it's smaller - say 'no'. When it's done, click "ok" to close the log window. Close AFS Explorer.

12. Open FrenChroniK's cv_1 in Game Graphic Studio (say 'no' to prompt). Right-click param_dat_27.bin and choose "export selected file to". Save the file to your desktop.

13. Open the cv_1 from your "ISO Files" folder in GGS (say 'no' to prompt). Right-click param_dat_27.bin and choose "import a file over this one". Choose the file you just saved to your desktop.

14. Open your clean PES iso in GGS. Click on cv_1 (say 'no' to prompt), then right-click it and choose "import a file over this one". Choose the cv_1 from your "ISO Files" folder. Do the same thing with cv_0, *but* choose the REGEN.img from your "ISO Files" folder to import over it. When you do this it will say the new file is smaller and ask if you still want to import it - say 'yes'. Close GGS.

15. Burn your now modified PES iso.

Aside from the team names, which you'll have to change manually in Edit mode - you will now have a fully functioning EPL. I didn't take any other files into account while doing this (like league logos, national teams, boots, balls, ad boards, or scoreboards), but you can follow the same procedure if you want to incorporate any of them. You just need to make sure that you have enough reserved space for the files you're importing and, obviously, that your finished cv_0 and cv_1 are the same size or smaller than the originals. Hope that helps.

@gonzophd - thank you so much for your tutorial, i made it finally, and i bellieve this tutorial is useful for people who's dying to get proper epl.
gonzo, do you think i still can add some patch like cs.img from steveomilan, and also how to change the font and number in epl, because before you gave me this tutorial, i only can see the right fonts and number in epl kits, and i tried in 3 different patches (ie. steveomilan, agimar, and franchcronik).
once again, thanks for your help, gonzophd, i'll wait for your new news!

Yes, you can still add cs.img from steveomilan. His file will fit without any changes, so just import it right over.

I'm not sure what you're asking about the EPL fonts and numbers. If you were using Agimar's patch before, you wouldn't have gotten them - because his patch has generic fonts and numbers for the EPL. I've never used steveomilans patch, so I don't know what's in there. FrenChroniK does have the right ones - so if you followed my last post, you will have the proper fonts and numbers.

gonzo, for cv_0, i'm sure that i'm using frenchronik (cause i can see frenchronik logo replacing pes 2008, that was before i follow your instruction) but for cv_1, i'm not really sure maybe i'm using steveomilan (the file size is 641,692 kb), if this is not the file could you show me where to get cv_1 from frenchronik? and also, can i use rv_e from steveomilan to replace rv_u in order to get proper league logo?
thanks again gonzo for your help

Here is the link for FrenChroniK's cv_1...

http://files.filefront.com/cv+1img/;9391867;/fileinfo.html

You can't use the entire rv_e from steveomilan to replace your rv_u, because they don't have the same number of files in them. The rv_e has about 12 more files than the rv_u does, so you have to try replacing them individually. However, I think there are some problems with the game freezing when you replace the league logos. I've been able to get them all inserted, and it seems to work in every mode - except regular 'league' mode (edit, exhibition, and master league all work).

So if you want to try it yourself, there is info on which files to take from rv_e on the first page of this thread (posts #11 and #14). The league logo files in cv_0 are as follows...

801, 888, 890, 1086
1092 - 1119
8114 - 8115

Nah, I've gotten the league logos to work. It really doesn't seem consistent from burn to burn what causes issues, frustrating.

Just a question, I'm a bit confused, are the above instructions for applying the patch to the US version of PES 2008? Or are those instructions for something else?

The above instructions explain how to use some files from the FrenChroniK v1 patch to make a functioning EPL on the US version of PES 2008. You can't directly apply any existing patches to the US version, but the above instructions will give you proper kits, numbers, fonts, logos, and flags for all English teams - leaving the rest of the game in its original state.

The .iso is the image of your game disk - and you would open it in GGS the same way you'd open any other file. After opening it, you'd see all of the other files (cv_0.img, cv_1.img, etc.)

When you burn a backup, you need two files - pes2008.iso and pes2008.dvd (they can have any name, but those are the extensions they should have). Do you have those?

Yeah, the problem is that I thought I had ripped it properly with Imgburn, but all I got was VOB files, which is strange because it's not a movie.

I'm trying to rip the game from a backup I have. Is that even possible or does it have to be an original? If a backup is ok, what should I use to rip my disk?

Thanks!

Yeah, you can rip the image from a backup - but I'm not sure why you're having that problem. What kind of drive are you using to rip it? I know you said you used ImgBurn, but are you sure you weren't accidentally using DVD Decrypter?

I was definitely using IMGburn. I know, it's weird, right? However, should I be using the flashed drive I have for ripping to rip this disc? Or will any dual layer drive work?

I think I once tried it with "360 backup creator" but it didn't see all 7GB.

Any help?

That could be it... If you've been using a Kreon drive to rip, I'd try a regular DL drive. I can't think of anything else that would be a problem. ImgBurn and a regular Pioneer 112D have always worked for me.

Fine, I'll try without my Kreon drive, just my regular Pioneer.

So, the regular drive and IMG burn? Any other settings? Any other instructions?

I don't get it. It happened again. Regular Pioneer DVD-DL drive, ImgBurn, ripped the whole disc. I open it with Game Graphic Studio and all it sees is VOBs and the standard DVD Audio and Video folders. So either GGS has a setting wrong or my IMGburn rips everything as a movie disc? I don't know.

Any suggestions or other ideas? Anyone?

Sigh. I just wanna get my Premiere League running.
