?

sorry if this all seems obvious just ive went through all threads few times now and non the wiser.
My knowledge on patching PS2 games is a bit iffy but I will help the best I can.
Patches are downloaded from this site or similar others. To apply them to your game you need to make an image of your PS2 disc to your computer - basically a copy of the files on the disc. There are many programs around which do this such as 'Alcohol 120%'. Each patch is slightly different but they all come with installation instructions which always involves overwrriting some of the files on the disc image you made.
After replacing the files/applying the patch the image file needs to be burned back to a DVD disc, and you need very good quality discs. For this you will need a DVD writer or re-writer. As you have burned the disc yourself your PS2 will need to be chipped to play the game. If chipping isnt want you want you can alway buy the Swap Magic Disc and Slide Tool - a easy to use kit that you must use every time before you play.
Patching can put new kits, balls, stadiums, teams etc etc in the game.
To put correct team/player names and updated transfers you need to use a piece of kit called a Max-Drive to put it on your memory card.
Personally if you are considering to heavily patch a game it may be cheaper to buy the PC version - as this is much easier to do and doesnt require a chipped playstation or max drive.
Hope this helps....
