It's my first year playing PES on the PC, and I was wondering just how the heck do people play PES on a PC. Do you use a controller? And if so what controller do you recommend (A cheap one if you can)

PS2 Gamepad with converter.

I also have a 360 pad but find the PS2 sticks are way more accurate and sensitive than their clumsy pain in the arse 360 counterparts.

Exact same thing for me! Starting with PES5 demo on the keyboard. Playing Arsenal v Chelsea and owning with Titi Henry & young, mighty young Cesc Fabregas, Jose Antonio Reyes! "w", wait, dam, "d"?

Oh my, good old days :)

I use a Logitech gamepad. ;)

hahah good times indeed. i remember getting the game pad for the first time. I had to convince myself numerous times to stay the course and not revert back to my precious keyboard. it felt so foreign at the time. i can imagine with the new 360 movement controlling on the keyboard would be horrible.

I was tempted to play PES this year with the keyboard, but unfortunately I had some horrible times playing fifa 2001 back in the day, it was a nightmare playing with the keyboard. I think I'll try the logitech gamepad, thanks for the suggestion

no problem mate. i find logitech to be most reliable, but they have other versions of ps2 controllers for pc on ebay for 4-5 bucks. so explore your options!

I used to use PS2 controller with adaptor and that was ok but my PC would occasionally 'forget' it and so I had to quit the game and go into settings...

I now use XBox360 controller(s) and would highly recommend it; make sure you get the ones for Windows (it's the same as normal one but with usb adaptor). I've had now problems at all with it and it's fully responsive. Not 'cheap' but definitely worth it. And I don't even own an XBox. It's also less confusing when editing because the buttons correspond with those in the game.

hm. i am so used to ps2 styled controllers but i guess when mine dies on me (which is does every 6 months...they only cost 5 quid) i will try out an xbox controller. but they are a bit expensive

Xbox 360 controller..download config from net and voilla....

with windows7 or windows 2008 r2, you don't need to download any drivers to use a wired xbox 360 controller

i play with an xbox 360 wireless controller. the usb receiver for wireless 360 controller --->> PC costs about 15$ on ebay. it's well worth the cost. i hate wired controllers. so now i can hook up my laptop to my sony 52" HDTV via hdmi cable, and then use my wireless 360 controller. it's just as if i'm playing a 360, except with better graphics and mods and i can play music in the background
