PC vs CONSOLE (for any football game)

Greetings. I'm having a bit of a dilemma.

I've only bought and played FIFA games until now, and I've always bought the console versions. The last few FIFA games I've bought have been for the XBOX, because I wanted the better graphics and sound.

I just bought a PS2, so now I own all three consoles, and I have an excellent PC.

Well, as soon as I bought the PS2, I started researching all these football games that everyone raves about, and I found out the only game available here in the US for PS2 is WE6I. Unfortunately, the reviews I've read said it isn't as good as the newer versions, so I decided against picking it up. I played the PES3 demo on PC last night, and I'm very impressed. So, now my options are to get the flip-top thing for the PS2 and import PES3, or import the PC version. As of now, I have the PC version pre-ordered, but I'm having second thoughts.

The PC version obviously has better graphics and resolution options, but my problem with it is that it doesn't lend itself to multiplayer gaming quite as much (unless it's online). I could easily get another gamepad for my PC and play my friends when they visit, but it's kinda awkward playing multiplayer on a smaller monitor (22", but still not the same as a 32" TV).

Suggestions? Are any of you buying the PC version? I'm also totally new to the PES scene, so I have no idea how the patching is gonna work, but I'm assuming it would be easier with the PC. Do you think a full patch that will fix everything will be available shortly after the PC release? I would guess it would simply be a .exe file.

Also, I think I'm still gonna pick up FIFA 2004, and I have it pre-ordered for XBOX, but I'm also thinking about the PC version for this. This is a bigger, 3-way dilemma. XBOX for the console feel and better graphics and sound, PS2 for the online play, or PC for better graphics and sound than the consoles?

I've asked lots of questions, but I'm hoping some of you can give me some advice, since you've all been playing these games for so long.

Thanks.

Hey, there another fella from the good ol' US of A. I'm in the states as well (Boston, MA). I have Winning Eleven 6: International, Winning Eleven 7 (Japanese version) and recently got PES3 from UK.
My suggestion to you would be to get your PS2 modified with a modchip, or you can buy a brand new PS2 console system already pre-modified, it costs money but its the safest way of playing imported games..I'm not much into playing PC games, graphics are too flashy and unrealistic..so get your PS2 modded or buy a pre-modified one, and then order whatever you want..

Does the flip-top solution not work for some games?

Well, people do alot of things to their PS2's to play imported games. In my opinion, I find them harmful, and wouldn't risk having my PS2 broken..Flip-top could work, but I heard it only works for a while, althrough people do use it, I guess if you're lucky it will work properly for some time..I don't understand why people are so cheap and cannot afford certain things that don't cost too much..Like I said take $300 buy a brand new PS2 system already pre-modified by a professionals, and you'll be all set..If you don't make your own money, then ask your mom or day.

I would get it on PC becuase there will probly be better patches that arent gonna work on the consoles and it's alot easier to patch and someone can probly hack it to play online via direct IP.

I also prefer higher res graphics becuase it just makes everything look cleaner. PS2 and even X-box blur the textures so you never really get the full quality and since you havea good PC you should use it.

well, if you've got a PC with GREAT specs then I would say..the PC version. Although, I'm a sucker for running PES3 on a big screen TV!

..btwn, why isn't this game being released on X-Box. I think it would be prefect for that console.....anyway......

i believe that you can download it from this very website, and it seems to be available from most game sites now too (ign, gamesdomain etc...) as well as file sharing networks like overnet and bittorrent

easiest and cheapest option..download the pc version :p, but don't do that, importing pes3 for the pc won't cost that much.
And you can patch it easier then de ps2 version.

Buy an 21 inch monitor and you'll be in heaven

oh btw and get an ps2 pad converter thing :p

I've got a 22" monitor, and it rocks. :)

I ordered the PS2 pad adapter yesterday.

I've decided to get both FIFA 2004 and PES3 on PC. I'll be playing FIFA for about a week until PES3 gets to me, so I'll be able to pick a clear winner. Even if I end up playing PES3 most of the time, FIFA will be great for online play.

By the way, here are my PC specs:

Intel 3.2 GHz Processor (Hyperthreading)
Intel D875PBZ Motherboard (800 MHz FSB)
1GB RAM
Radeon 9800XT
160GB RAID 0 Hard Drive
