Greetings. I'm having a bit of a dilemma.
I've only bought and played FIFA games until now, and I've always bought the console versions. The last few FIFA games I've bought have been for the XBOX, because I wanted the better graphics and sound.
I just bought a PS2, so now I own all three consoles, and I have an excellent PC.
Well, as soon as I bought the PS2, I started researching all these football games that everyone raves about, and I found out the only game available here in the US for PS2 is WE6I. Unfortunately, the reviews I've read said it isn't as good as the newer versions, so I decided against picking it up. I played the PES3 demo on PC last night, and I'm very impressed. So, now my options are to get the flip-top thing for the PS2 and import PES3, or import the PC version. As of now, I have the PC version pre-ordered, but I'm having second thoughts.
The PC version obviously has better graphics and resolution options, but my problem with it is that it doesn't lend itself to multiplayer gaming quite as much (unless it's online). I could easily get another gamepad for my PC and play my friends when they visit, but it's kinda awkward playing multiplayer on a smaller monitor (22", but still not the same as a 32" TV).
Suggestions? Are any of you buying the PC version? I'm also totally new to the PES scene, so I have no idea how the patching is gonna work, but I'm assuming it would be easier with the PC. Do you think a full patch that will fix everything will be available shortly after the PC release? I would guess it would simply be a .exe file.
Also, I think I'm still gonna pick up FIFA 2004, and I have it pre-ordered for XBOX, but I'm also thinking about the PC version for this. This is a bigger, 3-way dilemma. XBOX for the console feel and better graphics and sound, PS2 for the online play, or PC for better graphics and sound than the consoles?
I've asked lots of questions, but I'm hoping some of you can give me some advice, since you've all been playing these games for so long.
Thanks.
