People with crap connections shouldn't be able to play

People with extremely crappy connections shouldn't be able to play

I'm sorry if this offends any of you out there, but it is true. I challenged this guy called Gangstarr who had a great record, he was a new player, but had won 12 lost 1 with an average of 2 goals per game. I thought it could be a good challenge; then I realised why he had won so much.

The whole of the first half was glitched as hell, i'd go to tackle, split second later he'd by so far in front of me, it was laughable. He ripped me to shreds because of this, and got an early goal. I was fuming, as I didn't want to disconnect but I didn't want to get smashed because of lag.

Luckily, I levelled before half time, then when I got to host the game, which no-one has ever reported lag from, i went on to win 3-1. However, he has the cheek to come out and say

'oh your connection is shit mate; you only won because of that' no way mate; I have never had bad lag. I only have my PS2 connected when I play, and I have 10MB download and 394KB upload speeds, so it's not my stuff.

Sorry, slight rant, I know, but I needed to get it off my chest

watever man get over it, not everyone lives in the uk, as far as most of us r concern if u don't wanna face lag becos ur a sissy "must have it my way player" then always host.

u can't tell people they cna't play becos they have bad connect, they bought the game did'nt they?they have the right to use the online game play feature, am i right? so stfu anyless u have something productive to say. Typical lameass complaining about lag.

thanks for the insults mate!!

I don't care about minimal lag, it's just the lag that makes the game completely unplayable for the guy who isnt hosting. I have nothing against lag, just these sort of people, as how can you call it a fair competition if for a whole half, one player can't touch the other player due to it?

When the lag is very bad I think you should play defensively and try to keep hold of the ball as much as possible. I played one game on PES4 xbox live last year and the lag was disgusting so I tried this method and somehow managed to get the ball down the wing. Crossed it low and banged it in. Match finished 1-0.

ive got to agree with jonno here, while some lag can be understandable if playing across countries etc. When youve got huge lag with someone living in the uk its nearly always because they havent got a broadband connection. or if they to its 125 or something. When the whole ps2 online started it was stated that you should have at least 512 broadband, and when someone obviously doesnt and totally destroys the fun out of playing the match, i dont think its acceptable at all.
and yelin, i get what your saying, but not playing on extremely bad lag through no fault of your own isnt being a sissy 'must have it my way'' its being a person who likes pes5 and wants to play it how Konami intended.
then again if the lags due to the network or servers etc. we should jus hope it gets sorted an suck it up.

Quote from jono""A)don't ever tell me to shut up
B)don't ever call me a lameass
C)don't call me a siisy

If you want to do it, do it in a constructive manner, instead of spouting some shit that is worse than your moms vaginal excretion""

lol re mature mate, just keep crying about lag. Theres no such thing as lag free net gaming.

PS2 Lags are definately getting worse! When I went online the first time early last week, I was so happy and could not believe how well it worked. No lags at all!

Even though with supposedly good connection >>>, it seems to suck half of the time. So, it really does not seem to be that kind of problem. Also, the amount of registered players have gone up from around 16k to 25k during this time. Does not seem to be a massive increase in quantity but relatively is. I do have a good connection (in theory 8mb/1mb) and everything worked well until the end of the last week.

The other thing is that the game g e t s reeaalllyyy ssllooowww. I mean one minute playtime does seem to equal 75 secs or so, at least it feels like it. Some players seems to adapt this well, but for me, PES is all about response.

One theory though. Do you play on 50hz or 60hz refresh rate? The answer should be obvious (60hz, if your tv allows it), but I have a vague memory that I might have had 50hz, when I played the first time online / tested whether it has performance issues on single player. Since then I think I have played 60hz and problems have surfaced.

Maybe all of us can ask our opponents about 50/60hz. If it does not in sync, it might cause some problems. I´ll swicth to 50hz and see what happens.

yeah noticed the lag getting worse aswell, considering not bothering anymore as its just so frustrating. Shame as when i first got the game the online quality was high with hardly any lag.

watever man get over it, not everyone lives in the uk, as far as most of us r concern if u don't wanna face lag becos ur a sissy "must have it my way player" then always host.

Is it that hard to post a decent reply instead of insulting someone with a valid argument, if not dont bother and just f:#k off. And as for the always hosting comment, each player hosts a half. Atleast have some factually correctness in you post ffs.

Interesting point, I always play 60hz. You could be on to something with this; let us know how you get on, I will also try on 50hz see what happens!

Or I could just be grasping at every suggestion due to the frustration of playing a laggy game, or somebody to sour a victory by saying you "lag big time!"

Seriously... konami had done their part to switch host during half time to put an end to this lagging problem... so score as much as you want when its your turn to host... I feel this system is better off then PES4 as nobody would be client ha... anyway we all hope that one day we won't have this lagging issue anymore but for the time being gotta live it.

its still better than the pes4 on xbox live , you people don't know how lucky you are.... but lately i've had some good games with barely any lag at all

It happens the same for me, at the beggining it was great didn't notice lag at all but it started to get worst and worst and lately when i'm hosting is ok but the second halfs (as i usually create the room) are almost unplayable, i've to re.done my tactics and strategies. As it's been said i try to score the most i can as it becomes almost impossible to score on second halfs, very disapointing...

Well, there's just one solution. Block the players that lag and praise those who don't. That's what I do. Also Konami should let there be an option to host a whole match. Noone serious would lag another player a whole game.

u no what what konami needs to do is release a patch with lan play. or split the servers or something, have like different section for different continents, that would solve it abit. better than having Uk V America or Uk v asia, lagfest at it's finest hour.

The lag won't be there as long as you wire your cable directly from your cablemodem or connection. Those who wire, first through their computer, will probably at some time experience lag as the computer will always be using drivers that mess up the connection at some point.

Since ive started a online league over at evo-web its been great. People that want to play lagfree games so they keep there connections clear for the game only. Makes it so much better. So it seems its just idiots with bad connections or people with good connections doing other stuff on their pc. Something konami cant really do anything about, other then post an advise before logging in or something like that. Im sure there are enough, well the majority, that are just to thick to realise how the internet thingy works with bandwith, up/downloadspeeds, bandwithprogs ect.
