PES 08 PS3 Slow Down Issues TV related?

Hi,

I am not a technical bod. But is the slow down issue on the PS3 due to the type of TV connected?

Reason I ask. I played on my non HD tv (28" tube tv) and the slowdown is nearly unplayable (installation done and stadium effects off)

Then took my PS3 to my mates who has a Panasonic TH37PX70 37'' Viera HD Ready Television. and guess what. No slow down. The game play is now fine apart from the odd slow down on the odd corner or replay.

Thoughts people?

Dont know tbh. People have been asking or raising similar points on other threads. Im playing on a hdtv through HDMI and i havent experienced the level of slow that people have been claiming making the game unplayable.

Could be a link but surely we would see this already on other PS3 games where slowdown is apparent when playing on a non hd tv.

Make sure you arnt downloading anything in the background and try changing the PS3 system settings that have been posted on other threads.

Maybe could be a Sony conspiracy to make you buy a HDTV preferably a Bravia!

I've got a non HDTV and I can't play the game due to slow downs. Two of my mates have HDTV's ... no problem at all

I remember when I played PES6 for the first time on my new HD screen it played almost twice as fast, going back and playing it on my mates smaller screens it felt really really slow and we refused to play it.

I am sure this is the problem which is a bit of a shame to anyone who doesnt have HD.

With anyone who does have a HD TV I am using a HDMI cable from my PS3 into my Samsung 32''.

There are some slow-down points when the teams are lining up and replays etc. Does anyone know if changing the resolution resolves this??

Thanks

I have a normal HD compatiable TV an i dont have an HD cable for my PS3 it plays in AV, ok there is slight jerkyness but its not so bad. I guess more people are strugging with the HD TV's?

My nephew bought it yesterday and it's next to unplayable on his LCD NON HD tv...we're going to try it out on my good old fashioned CRT widescreen tv later on. I'll let you know if it makes any difference.

We've tried adjusting nearly all of the options and none of them have made much difference, so far...

Weirdest thing is that unlike most we get the worst slow down in the middle of the park, and in the boxes it's not as bad. Running down the wings gives an impression of what it must be like to play it with no jitter, ahhh if only, since it seems more solid than the last version.

Abizmal! this is not acceptable!!! we paid £50 for this i expect not to have to deal with lag issues!

Maybe the problem is down to Scart connections rather than the actual TV? Seems like Konami only tested with top of the line tvs?

Sorry I posted this issue on another thread.
I have also noticed differences between 2 SD TVs using my PS3 with the same settings on both.

I have an HD TV and experience slowdown..there is no link between anything. It's just konami not putting the polish on properly

If this is the problem, then it goes like this:

Konami sells next gen PES08 so, you buy the PS3, then you buy the PS3, but it slows down, which Sony says the game may improve with HDTv, so, you buy HDTv. It's all about tha money.

This is weird, what the fuck, i'm playing it on a large CRT Philips TV and its so annoying... its unplayable, awful frame rate..
Given the bad press the game's been getting i rented it first and i hate to say it but i'm glad i did cause after nine years of PES i won't be buying this year
