Graphics look awesome. Passing looks better and the balls movement looks far better.

And as muzza798 said, it looks far more tactical rather than just running.

its strange coz although ive loved prior PES titles i often found my self wondering if the developers have ever seen a football match when the SBs took in at centre back ect alot of games seem to do this, top spin 3 is a great game but theres no cord balls or lets and other things which makes me wonder if its developers have ever seen a game of tennis. if some of these small things were wrinckled out we would have a mighty game on our hands!

The animations looks improved (youtube quality can't show this clearly but it is improved). Also the gameplay is much improved. Look at the balance between defense and attack. It looks a bit like pes 6. Pes 6 was a bit arcade but still one of the best pes games. The passing is awesome as it was supposed to be in 08. I like that.

Yeah, it looks more like PES6 -but- the people that have played it say that it plays like PES5.. it is completely understandable, as you can put PES5 and PES6 aside and by "looking" at it there are no Differences.. it's the same game.

That said, Konami have done it this year, the game will be massively enjoyable.. they just need to add the Old PES5 Edit Mode (along with the PES5 Gameplay), and a less restrictive Online Mode; Use any edited Team, any edited player -without- having to worry about Default Settings.

To be honest, I think they (Konami) had it easy for this year, as the game basically is PES5 with better Graphics.. they played it safe with an Old Reliable formula. That said, what will they do for Next Year?? They cannot keep this going for long.

^Yeah. Also the animations are much better than pes 5 though, so is the shooting. In Pes 5 the shooting wasn't that great.

I have to be honest, having seen the Be A Legend mode in action, im quite looking forward to trying it out. Man I'm hyped. I haven't been this hyped before a PES game since PES4.

haha on the second vid on miggys links, i think robinho scores a goal and hes offside, so coupet does a runner. on 1min48secs abidal shows some subtle touchs though.that quick 90degree turn is exclusivley for players with dribble accuracy at 90+ but the amount of people ive seen do it suggests theyve scrapped that.it also looks like theyve scrapped the weak toe poke animation strikers always do when they shoot with a defender at there side!AIs passing, skill, and willingness to shoot seems better. and is the person in th last vid playing WITH the AI, i remember seeing a cursor on a guy making a run when his team had the ball, this video also shows the dribbling and passing off the most, the guy who is brazil does some nice stuff

some bad points
looks like you still cant challenge keeper
looks like you can still only injure a players right shin

btw when did 2008 demo get released onto xbox marketplace?

The good thing about pes's in the past has been that each match felt different and required you to play differently to match up what you were up against. In 2008 that was not the case and i think is a really indepth problem that pes 2008 had.

WOW you are positive for once.....but come on man ahwy are you talking about next year already when this showin was only 70% done....i mean if it came out the way they showed it today i would still buy it, it will only get better.

Who says they cant do this much longer? PES never needed a complete overhaul it just needs tweaking from year to year imo.....about la liga tho hmmm....IDK master league might not be so much fun if you play even more fake teams now but oh well as long as the gameplay is right. And yeah one thing i agree with you is that PES6 was a better game then PES 2008 although PES 2008 was still a hugely enjoyable game to me.

If they lose La Liga and you cba to create all the teams you should just create the teams in your ML then you'll only play a few unlicensed teams in the euro cup

Me and my msn chat. tut tut tut. CBA mean can't be arsed.

Ok. If you can't be arsed ;) , to change the kit of every team or each division then just change the teams in you own division. That way the only unlicensed teams you'll see will only be in Champions league matches.

Don't get me wrong, I will no doubt end up buying the game because I have never played (or owned) a Football Sim with good Graphics and good Gameplay. I can't wait to make my All-Time XI Team, can only hope that the Edit Mode is back to the way it was back in PES5.

In PES5 I could choose from any Face to any Haircut -instead- of the crappy looking haircuts of PES6 and PES08.. I particularly liked that there was Valderrama's fro, Baggio's trademark (weird) ponytail, and Zidane's hairstyle -so- I did created them quite well.

With the right Face and the right Hair, you can create spot-on Classic players, wich was something I appreciated about PES5. I actually managed to create an Identical replica of Matt Le Tissier, it's just a shame there isn't any "Long Range Shooting" Stat.

On the other hand, in PES08 I could not even choose between different faces or haircuts, and of course the Editing of the Kits was worthless.

Something New I would like to see in the editing mode would be; the possibility (option) of placing Logos in the sides of the shirt, and placing Logos in the Socks -that's- something I have never seen in any Editing Mode.

And of course, I'm still waiting for that unrestrictive Online Mode.. who wouldn't like to play with their own (created/edited) Team Kits Online?? I would really appreciate it if I could play with my all-time XI team -- in Online Play.

Oh and I almost forgot, Why in hell do we still see Maradona and Pele and all the Greatest players Yet with cheap looking faces?? It's plain diminishing to see Kuyt and Peter Crouch with impressive faces -while- the likes of Maradona and Pele have cheap (random) looking faces..

Seriously, how hard can it be to Edit a few faces?? I'm sure many fans would appreciate seeing Maradona and Pele in High Definition Graphics. Plus, doing so, would give another New Meaning to the "PES shop", more people would be into using and "unlocking" Classic Players.

Anyways, the Bottom Line -is- that it is obvious that Konami is relying too much on their past games.. it's an Old fail-safe formula. PES5 with good decent Graphics is great, but I would also like to see a further Elaboration on the Old system of Stats and Special Abilities; add more Defensive Stats, Finishing Stats, Passing Stats, Tactical Stats, and a few others.

A system of Stats and Special Abilities with more Depth and Substance, establishing further Differences between every Type of player, further Defining what a player CAN or CANNOT do.

Is that too much to ask?? Only one thing to consider, and that is; PS3.

Anyways, ignoring PES08.. What do you think Konami SHOULD and CAN elaborate about PES5 in the near future??
