fifa 08 was totally shocking, sooo unrealistic.
The only game thing was the crowd, commentators and career options.

The gameplay would have to improve tenfold for it to come close to even pes08.

I was really disapointed in last years pes but after a few months and a bit of editing I slowly forgot about my expectations and loved it again.

My girlfriend has pes6 for the ps2 and when i play on that its horribly last gen, so to suggest pes08 for the ps3 is not next gen is wide of the mark.

Ive got high hopes again this year, so with the be a legend mode, more editing facilities and the added gameplay (loving deteriating pitches and little stuff like that) it'll be awesome.

cant wait

fifa what?

Got a PC so the contest is even more one sided in favour of PES2009. Still, if I had a PS3 or X360 i'd still pick PES2009.

I played the Fifa 09 demo and found it rather slow...

I kept pounding on the sprint button but it seemed like the players never advanced, like they were held back by a rubber band... :D

i'll wait for PES 2009 to come and finally get some next-gen footie!!

I'll definitely be getting PES 2009, but I'm not too sure on FIFA. If I do get it, it's only if its less than £25.

PES is home, and always will be. FIFA just doesn't seem right, no matter how well the series actually progresses.

PES 2008 was a pile of wank so I had to make do with no football games for a year. I still had PES6 for the PS2 though, and that was great.

Been playing Pro Evo exclusively since the very first. This year it's back over to FIFA though for the first time since 2002.

Unless the ProEvo09 demo totally blows my mind (which judging from what I've seen so far it almost definitely won't) it'll be EA's game all the way, and rightly so because Konami have been resting on their laurels for far too long now. There are so many little irritating details in Pro Evo that I shan't miss.

i will be getting PES09, i think FIFA and Pro can be compared to the star wars franchise...

FIFA = episodes 1 2 & 3 (vary flashy but no substance)

PES = episodes 4 5 & 6 (May not look so great but Classic)

That's a good comparison you have there, completely agree.. FIFA gets Old very fast -whereas- PES keeps growing on you.

Played the FIFA demo and even though I earn more than enough to buy them both I aint going to be shelling out £40+ for FIFA.

PES for me.
