Doesn't PES for the Wii basically give you the ability to control players individually (not that that is what the suggestion is)?
As for the tactics idea, have you tried creating a "Formation B"? (sorry, I didn't read the entire post, I only have 30 minutes on my lunch break). Also, there is the "pressure" tactic and offside trap, switch sides, etc. You could even create a second formation which would change your players from Man marking to zone. I think there is a lot that can be done, and that the current system is more than adequate. Bottom line is that PES tactics are pretty darn good, you also have the attack and defense levels there and the combinations are almost limitless... plus, there are lots of other areas I would prefer Konami to concentrate on rather than this, i.e. online *cough, cough*
Dude, controlling players "individually" is like the Worst Concept ever, it's poor and it's flawed. How in hell am I supposed to control 11 players at the same time?? Or even 2 players at the same time?

There's a lot we can do, and I have experimented with just about Everything PES offers.. But for what should be a Football Simulation?? It has incredibly poor off-the-ball Play.
The off-the-ball movement is good, but the off-the-ball Play is poor.
I'm sorry to say it but it is, I just play every game in the same way, I don't have to Think, I don't have to make any type of Tactical changes, etc, etc.. The game is just Uncompromising, straightforward, and easy. I's all about first-touch passes, Tapping the R2 button, and knowing How to finish.
The game lacks a lot of depth and substance. And this is the Thread for discussing How PES09 could improve in that aspect.
This doesn't means that the game is bad, only that the game's Replay Value is poorer with each passing year. There's just Not One New Concept that can add something completely New and Significant to a good, but Outdated game.
Up till know, all I've get is some Kid saying PES09 is great and doesn't lack any depth, followed by comment like yours.. What a Waste of my fucking time.
And like in the first post, for the people who think that PES just isn't what it used to be, This is The thread to discuss Why and How can PES09 improve in that aspect.
By the way, good luck with your Flawless Online mode, too bad you'll be playing an Outdated game by then.
