Seems like that's the approach they're taking this year. Hopefully they won't sacrifice quality for a speedy release.

Typical of Konami to feed us with Bull.

The teaser video was just that .....a video. That is no in game crap. If it was, where are the other players? Even the training ground has players.

With a developer's debug console, they can use the game engine in ways that the public can't. It can quite easily be modified to show a video like this yet still use the game engine.

All you need to watch is the bit between 26 seconds and 36 seconds. In that small time, you can see a huge amount of animation improvement. The way Messi controls the ball with both feet, first the right and then left. Then the layoff with his left foot, and then the best bit comes now. When Messi starts to look around him. That bit alone sold me. Just brilliant.

its a piece of promotion, there is absolutley nothing guarnteeing such things will actually occur in the game.

This year im going to wait till i play the game, the last few years all those on the front lines posting vids ahve stated how it feels and looks different, despite the videos they post looking the same as last year. I'm taking nobodys but my own impression after playing this year, so no PES excitement for me till its release. Sick of the shite konami produce and the excuses that start to dominate the forum explaining why the demo's are shit and that the final game wont be, or why the demo's good when it clearly isnt.

LMAO at those people who say PES 6 is better than PES 2010! I own both games and PES 2010 blows it out of the water. PES 2010 IS one of the best PES games ever and PES 2011 looks 10x as good with fluent movement and even more realism. This game will mark the death of Fifa whereas PES 2010 was just the revival of the king. I can tell just by looking at that trailer that this game will be HUGE.

The video is more than likely a CGI rendering. PES2011 is being developed by a different team isn't it? The chances of a new team developing a new product getting it right first time are low.

Seabass is still in charge.

What are you talking about?

As bad as PES has been these recent years, Konami have NEVER released a PES teaser or a full trailer that isn't a representation of the final product. Never. Why would they suddenly change that now?

Don't you all love these creepy WENB types hyping Konami and their crappy site all over the PES community - give it up and go back to licking Adam and Suff's buttholes

think konami will strike first and release their product before the new fifa ?

I doubt it. If PES2011 really is 'the one' then, for me, the smart thing to do would be allowing FIFA11 to be the undercard to the main event, so to speak.

Wow... just wow.

Of course they can. Easy.

I think what's funny is that those who still doubt the video is in-game are going to be the ones who have to:

A.) Eat their words when they see more gameplay footage.

and,

B.) Admit that the movement in the game blows their socks off, because they didn't even believe it was real when they saw the teaser!

Hmmm. Perhaps not. I've seen the footage & yes it looks impressive, but so did the video I saw for The Bigs 2 (a baseball title for those who haven't seen it). Point being, the game itself was frustrating, difficult to stamp your individuality on and eventually tiresome.

Playable demo will be the only convincing factor this year. I don't doubt Konami are capable of pulling it out of the bag this year... but I certainly won't be won over by a mere video.

"So, the translation, for those still interested on a proper one:

Quote:
- New moves, on the defense, a new way to deal with tactics, new trick system (this we already know).

- Master League Online, Copa dos Libertadores, a new editing system with a surprise they didn't want to tell us (we also know already).

- It's much more harder, because there's no AI assistance, and about 15/20 players have a "new" ability called "Speed Star".

Q: Did you liked the game?
A: I did, because i'm a veteran, but without A.I assistance, newbies/casual gamers will suffer, because it's much harder.

Q: But, I'm going to ask you something. Are the changes radical? Is it much better than all the next gen and PS2 games?
A: No, not yet, we are still waiting for that PES. Sorry.

Q: Are you saying it isn't good?
A: No no, I'm not saying it isn't good, it's just that it won't be the "different" PES we are waiting for.

Q: Are the animations good at least? What about response times?
A: Animations look good, and the time of response is weird at first, because you have no AI help, but you'll get used to it (I think he is talking about something different than response times...). For the veterans it will be nice to get back to the roots, but newbies will suffer at the beggining.

Q: What the about the goalkeepers and ball and players physics?
A: Goalkeepers were bad, but what we have seen was at 70% so I expect them to improve, because they were too bad. Ball physic is similiar to PES 2010 and players physics was improved, especially on body-on-body collisions.

Q: Is the game similiar to last FIFA editions? Or nothing like it.
A: Well the new trick system is a bit like FIFA's one, but apart from that, no they aren't alike.
Questions are by Jjoseca.

So, like I said, nothing conclusive. We actually made more questions but the guy didn't answered. Let's see what we read on next weeks actual reports. "

Back to the roots, harder to play, good animations and collision system pleases me. However poor goal keepers is very worrying. The 3 main things that needed to be fixed were animations, response times and GK's. Sort it out Konami.

Ok, but I'm not saying anything about being won over by the gameplay or anything, just animations.

Well, I think the bit that says:

"I did, because i'm a veteran, but without A.I assistance, newbies/casual gamers will suffer, because it's much harder"

Is a very, very broad statement... how do you not have AI assistance when you are in control over the entire team? to say that there is no AI assistance is just a lie, in my opinion.

And also, when he was asked: Are the changes radical? Is it much better than all the next gen and PS2 games?

He responded by saying: "No, not yet, we are still waiting for that PES. Sorry."
----------------------------------------------------------

AI assistance will always be necessary, taking the same concept and making it less AI-assisted will not make the game any better: it would still revolve around the same old concept.

I think PES 2011 will be a good game, the best PES to date; but it won't bring anything new to the table.
