PES 2011 Gameplay Video!!!

I liked the gameplay. Through balls seem very nice and I liked the option for feints and dribbles. It adds an unpredictable factor to the game (specially against humans).

Of course, probably it is not the game we have been waiting for, but it seems much better than PES 2010.

With addition of Libertadores Cup, improvement of Master League, BAL and online, I think I will be satisfied.

I just ask Konami: please don't start again with the crazy scripting.

looks pretty good... But I am still a little bit unsure about the game play. Nice and smooth though which is a bonus. The nets still look HORRIBLE though!

This game looks much better than PES 2010. Sure, the opening to a match is similar, but seeing the game in motion, it is far better than 2010, and I say better than any of the later FIFA offerings. The game just has a more solid feel to it than past games - the players and ball have weight - and FIFA just does not have that.

Animations look great. Konami seemed to have solved the two main issues with the animation system - smoother transitions and IK implementation. The result is very convincing for my money. The variety of animations looks impressive too, and subtle, which is why multiple viewings may be necessary.

Passing looks great, as does dribbling. We know that Messi run would be impossible in 2010, but I bet it will be impossible in FIFA 11 as well (surely would be in 10). As for the defence, I think we were seeing a low difficulty/human v human. The German passing moves on the Ozil goal and Klose chance were great and VARIED - looks like the passing works well to open up the game and allow for more realistic situations.

The goalkeeping on the Portugal goal was a cringe-worthy, but I hope that was an anomaly. Pen system is still not the best, but the new camera angle makes it look a bit more bearable and useable - I just hope aiming isn't as sensitive as 2010's.

I'm disappointed. Yes, it does look more fluid but I'm not seeing this whole 'freedom'. When sprinting, it seems like we have the same old fixed directions. I want PES to deliver, so I'll reserve judgement till the demo. If the demo's not really something to get excited about, I won't be buying it this year.

What is with the penalties?! Why did they change it? Did anyone not like the face-on pens? I thought they were great.

I’m sure I’m gonna get completely shot down for this, but I just watched the 720p video in those links and the game looks terrible. It’s PES2010 with some tweaks. I really don’t know where to start at how disappointing this game looks.

Okay, here goes (and cue the abuse)

- Sound. It sounds awful. Tinny sounding crowds, repetitive chants, awful shrill whistle from previous editions is STILL there. I mean seriously, how can they keep the same sound design, it was terrible in PES2010 etc.

- Animations. Again, these look AWFUL. Players don’t move like real people, they kick the ball in a strange manner, Messi on several occasions glides across the pitch like he’s hovering above it. Messi is travelling so much faster than the defenders around him that his legs don’t even keep the same speed that he’s travelling. Players seem to again move in a robotic way, and when they kick the ball, their stance is all wrong, their foot sometimes doesn’t even look like it comes into contact with the ball, and look looks wrong. Check out Kuyt’s penalty, what kind of kicking action is that?

- Physics. The ball doesn’t move realistically. It barely bobbles. One clip shows a Germany player latching onto a lofted through ball, and he brought the ball down and under immediate control with no bouncing, nothing. And when players dribble with the ball, it looks horrific. The player will tap the ball in front of him, then it almost ’snaps’ back onto his foot like it’s tied to a rubber band. Utterly awful. And again, I cannot believe how the hype has had us all thinking the game will play differently when the first proper extended gameplay clip shows Messi able to turn and dribble past half the team, travelling stupidly fast and drilling it into the net.

- Goalkeepers. Check out the Portugal goal near the very end of the video. The player somehow dribbles through the defence thanks to the fact that the ball is tied to his foot (again, no bobbling or proper ball physics). BUT, he manages to dribble into the six yard box before the keeper seems to even realise the ball is there, and the guy pumps the ball into a near empty net.

I really want to think this game will signal my old love of PES but this just looks robotic, dependant on fast players, and more of the same. Bugger.

^I never watch youtube HD because it sucks. The framerate is nothing like an HD video should be so there will be skipping. It's better if we judge by the demo or by a proper HD video.:)

well, pretty much what i expected, i like that now players run more smoothly and do not look like theyre squating anymore. gameplay may be a little faster than it should be, but it does seem better than videos from a year ago of pes2010. also keep in mind that these users playing in this videos are probably playing with default formations and tactics. and just giving it a quick go. so don't expect to see great defensive play or players running into free space and stuff like that.

menus look cool, but as far as animations. same ol same ol. nothing that captivated my eye, like say WOW. atmosphere still looks the same, and the few goal celebrations we saw were not anything different either, i did notice photo snaps in the crowd, entrance to the stadium is same, and not much going on around the pitch.

hopefully we get a good online mode and good gameplay, because as far as animation konami is stuck in the ps2 era.

After watching it last night I actually thought it looked awesome! If I had to think back to last year and my reaction to the first PES10 gameplay movies and compare it to this...I think PES11 looks very good this year, and I'm definitely getting it!

Plus after reading the initial reactions of Fifa 11 gameplay movies on the fifa forums, most people are either frustrated, mad or dissapointed.

My biggest wish for PES11 was that it was smooth, and according to this video it's much smoother than PES10. It actually looks fun to play! Can't wait, I think this is going to be the best PES on this generation of systems!

Not too worried about the defense, if you look the Messi goal you'll see the guy playing as Portugal really messed up his defense by rapidly changing players and letting Messi through. Though other parts the defens could've been better, but it doesn't look like a trainsmash to me...the goalies on the other hand needs serious improvement, they look horrible

I've just watched it at 360p because Flash for Mac is tripe and it looks much more fluid than PES10.

People keep complaining about pes 2010 being "sluggish" in control. I think pes2010 was great when you got used to it as there was feeling of weight and difficulty in controls.

Pes still has of course many other things to fix, (personally I'd like to see some improvements on tricksystem, as it's now pretty much like "stars can do tons of stuff, other players pretty much nothing too useful".
But I'm sure Pes2011 will nail at least me as it has done year after year.

It seems that EVERY year I at least personally have NOT liked the new Pes (well maybe Pes6 I liked immedieately as it was masterpiece). But always grown into it and had tons of fun, especially with a friend in same team Master League who covers normally a bit lacking own team players AI

Meaning I'm sure I'll grow into new pes when it comes as well :)

I am sorry I really dislike this. I still feel its the same old shit, yes it is better than PES2010 but its not an overhaul. Horrible rubbish.

looks like PES2010 with some tweaking... I thought it was going to be a whole new game playengine ! The Messi dribbing act towards the end is disturbing...
