Hello, I'm new here and I know everyone here on this forum has definitely got their own concerns and suggestions about PES 2016 and what is should be like, but please just take your time to read this and don't hesitate to share my ideas with friends or other members.

CURRENTLY OWNED PES GAMES: PES 2015

1. How long have you been playing PES?
Since PES5 on the PS2, been a really big fan since, although over the last few years I've tended more towards FIFA, but have become disappointed with EA's content over the last 5 games, and really want to go back to the feeling of playing PES, which focus more on gameplay experience, individuality and a strong Gamer-Developer relationship and feedback.
2. What are the aspects that you like most about PES?
Player individuality is a big one, I'm also a big fan of the editing and customizations options available and the overall pace of the gameplay which I think is perfect in regards to what the pace of an actual football match is.
Playing regular 11-a-side football since I was 7, I know football is so technically biased on orienting your first touch to give yourself time on the ball or to change the pace of the game, passing into space, moving and creating space as well as maintaining momentum in movement during a counter-attack, I love the way PES2015 Fully exploited this, with the first touch being a crucial part of the game, the players didn't move so quickly that it wasn't real or pulled a ridiculously amazing first touch every time you had the ball. It was perfected to a point that I cannot see in anyway how it could be made better.
I love the way the game isn't biased so much towards Attacking or Defending, but rather on tactics. I also like the feeling of not being bombarded with cut-scenes and replays, unlike FIFA, which makes me wait 30 minutes for the referee to cross the pitch and run over to a player during a foul, only to give him a warning and no card, it's annoying.
With PES, the replays are really varied and I have total control to skip these with a sing touch of the options button, rather than bashing the X button on the controller repeatedly, to the point where it's literally being ridiculous. I mean people aren't always patient, so why should we have to wait so long, we're trying to play a game not watch a movie or something.
The face graphics are outstanding, to the point that Neymar looked better in the game than in any 720p video of him giving an interview on YouTube, with his blonde dyed hair from the 2014 Men's World Cup. It was mind blowing that this also spread to a lot of other players in-game and not just the cover boys.
3. What are the aspects that you don’t like about PES?
Hard to say, the game has developed so much from PES2014 to PES2015 that almost all issues with it are gone, leaving only few minor ticks here and there that could easily be solved.
But I think there isn't enough game options available and menus aren't too easy for newcomers to PES, I'd really like something that would encourage me to bring people to PES, maybe something along the lines of Pro Clubs like FIFA, which I am a really big fan of, to be fair it's the only reason why I still have FIFA, after being left with a disastrous gaming experience from FIFA 15, I'm at the point where I'd easily buy a PS3 again just to play FIFA 08.
Something like that would be a game changer, a lot of people I know have also said they wished strongly for PES to have a game option along those lines. Me and my roomates were rooting for it, there's 6 of us so it would be great to have our own 11-a-side team, with our own controlled players. Bringing back the Boots Editor would be a plus too. It really made PES5 a great game
IMPROVEMENTS:
GAMEPLAY:
PROBLEM 1
In game tactical options aren't good enough, I don't see why the formation needs to change when you want your team to be more offensively or defensively minded in-game, rather it should be that players should push forward more often, as well as getting higher up the pitch, encouraging the full backs to make runs when you want them to be more offensive and have them drop back, and double up on cover when you want them to be defensive. It's a really simple thing take example from FIFA, it ranges from ultra defensive to ultra attacking, but the formation doesn't change it's the mindset that does as it should.
If I want to change formation, I can just go to the pause menu and do it, it's a drastic move to change formation, the whole shape becomes different. I've also noticed players stick way too much to the "exact" spot they are on the line up. They don't tend to vary from that position very much, it makes the game feel rigid, even if you select flexible movement in the tactics.
PROBLEM 2
Strikers hold their runs way too early, it creates a feeling of lack of depth on the field, sometimes they'll hold their run even when they are 5-6 metres in front of a defender, it just makes it impossible to send a through balls since they'll always be behind once the ball is played through, and to make up for that I've noticed sometimes players can have unrealistic super-pace, when they're sent on runs, as though to make up for being out of position.
PROBLEM 3
They are much slower sprinting with the ball than without it, of course that's normal, but drastically slower, as in Sergio Busquets will easily catch up even if I'm running at full pace with Gareth Bale on the ball down the line, that just....... does not happen.
And it's not just those two it's almost every player when you're playing on the hardest difficulty. I created my own player and gave him maximum pace to test this, and the same thing happened, he was easily getting caught up.
I don't think there should be too much difference in actual player speed, but enough to distinguish a really fast player from a average one.
Problem 4
Finesse shots are so easy to score, so easy that it's hard to get them off target. Normal shooting is perfect, but when holding R2 it's way to easy to get on target. Plus it tends to be the exact same animation, every time, no matter what position you're in. The animation is lacking natural body movement, their body positioning, leaning back, getting the foot around the ball, and the follow through all lack emphasis.
And there's is a noticeable drop in momentum when doing so, it doesn't follow through from normal movement leading up to the shot, it could be because the R2 button is used for close ball control which slows down the player so I suggest maybe a double tap of the square button for a finesse shot.
This is something it should look like.
Look at how much they adjust their bodies to get the right curl because of the position their bodies are in. The torso, the leg, and how they follow through.
Problem 5
So often the players feel like they are obliged to follow a set path when being set on a through ball, it's like a "Railtrack" feeling, a little bit of freedom of movement would be good because they slow down unconventionally when they're about to receive the ball.
PROBLEM 6
There is a noticeable delay when trying to perform skill moves, sometimes the player just doesn't react at all, I like the fact that they are complex to do unlike FIFA where it's ridiculous what you can do, but sometimes it's almost as though the joystick is unresponsive.
I suggest having a skill button to also make it easier when pushing the ball whilst running, using the joystick would be great because double-tapping R1 often makes it quite awkward.
ADD THE OPTION TO CHOOSE BETWEEN EITHER!!
Because some might prefer it with the R1 option some might not, if you're going to try and bring FIFA gamers to PES, people will want to choose the easier familiar controls and hardcore PES players will prefer the old method.
If you keep both everybody will be happy, if you remove one or the other people will get annoyed, it's not like having both is impossible, just add a classic running or new running choice or something.
Having controls like in FIFA 12 with the skill button + joystick for performing skill moves and joystick only without skills button for pushing the ball was brilliant before they stupidly removed it for whatever reason even though there was no advantage in removing it whatsoever, it just makes the game 1042190481204821 times more confusing, not good decision making from EA.
PROBLEM 7
"Crabbing" or side-stepping is an issue, I've noticed a lot of the time when you're receiving the ball under pressure, your player will side-step forward towards the ball, it would be good if they could just normally run or walk straight towards it.
PROBLEM 8
Players don't often see space, they tend to stay behind an opposing player making it impossible to pass to them, it could be due to the lack of freedom in passing. The passing with X with pass support ON is in a direct STRAIGHT line, like you can't pass into space to make it easier for a player to control the ball, and through balls are really hard to get on target, like 90% of the time they're over hit, it would be good if there were a little bit more of flexibility, like playing manually is actually easier than with any passing support.
PROBLEM 9
Have set different options for passing support, like pass, through ball, crossing, like FIFA rather than mixing them up all at once. I prefer to play with manual passing because supported passing is hard to play with but I don't wan't manual crossing, you see what I mean?
The 5 levels system is no good, it makes it an inconvenience and there is no description as to how each level differs, when testing them out I didn't feel any noticeable difference. Give us more options to customize how we should play don't mix things up all in one.
PRESENTATION & FEATURES
Problem 1
One of the biggest Issues with me starts right from the home screen, as soon as you load up the game you're already being frustrated. The reason is because of the Online Updates Information.
Try to make the game more User-friendly, Online updates Information takes quite a lot of time to load up before you actually get into the game, yes it's essential to hardcore users to know changes have been made, but a lot of the time, I was playing with my room-mates, and we often complained about loading times and especially this one because we could just be playing a 1 Vs 1 match before going out for meals or something we were in a hurry to play whilst waiting for the others to get ready, and we'd have to wait for this loading screen every time we loaded up the game even though it was of no importance to us. It left us frustrated a lot of the time.
I don't see why this isn't just made into the form of an extra Tab in the Main menu, or even something like "Press the options button to see Online Update Information"
Problem 2
There menus can also be confusing, titles should be concise, in the main menu the are the tabs
HOME, MATCH COMPETITION, FOOTBALL LIFE, EXTRAS.
It would really be helpful if there was a specific "ONLINE" tab added to avoid confusion because my roomates and I were often getting confused between exhibition match and quick match in the home tab, yes it's a minor thing but for newcomers who will find it hard to adjust to the game, little changes like these makes it a lot easier for them, rather than having to get used to it after playing the game for a while, they would just understand it from the beginning.
And even I after playing this game for a while, I still get that natural reaction to go for Quick Match when I only want to play against the COM or a friend.
Problem 3
Another Issue is to do with the stadiums, I'm not sure if there was a mistake or something but you do have the same stadium twice. Being an AC Milan fan, a little thing like this really annoyed me, it just shows a lack of football knowledge from the developers. The San Siro and Giuseppe Meazza are one and the same. Giuseppe was the name of one of the legends who played for both internazionale and AC Milan.
SUGGESTIONS
Suggestion 1
One suggestion would be to include a game mode along the lines of Pro clubs as I mentioned before.
Suggestion 2
Another is the way the player's bodies fit the kits. I know it's a little thing but these kind of thinks can easily be tackled to build player individuality. skinny players should have naturally loose fitting clothes, one thing than annoys me is that players with big bodies and small bodies have kits fitting them exactly the same way. you don't notice their difference as much. It's like FIFA they have literally copied and pasted the same body across every single player, to the point you cannot even tell them apart, it looks dull. And don't do it like FIFA where they've introduced tight kits, it makes the players look ridiculous to the point you're wondering if they can even breathe.
Look at Ronaldo before when he was skinny
And look at him now
See the difference, the way the kit is much looser when he was younger due to his smaller frame and how it is much tighter now that he is bigger. The thing that annoys me is when editing the players to make them bigger, the kits get bigger too depending on the size, if the a player's biceps gets bigger the kits arms shouldn't get bigger too, they should stay the same.
Of course there are sizes like S/M/L/XL, but they don't have a particular part of the kit become bigger just because the player's arms gets bigger. Introducing something like kit sizes would be a great idea.
Again giving us more options, what have you got to lose by introducing something like that? now one is going to complain about it, it'll make the game feel more realistic.
look at how ozil's kit is much looser compared to players like Giroud, Wilshere and Gnabry. This is because they corpulence is different, Ozil is much skinnier than the others and it shows.
Suggestion 3
Another thing I would help is the difference in ankle tapes, some players wear their ankle tapes High near the middle of the tibia, Normally and Low where it starts from the inside of the shoe and ends up just a tiny bit above the ankle.
It's little things like these that make them look different. Again, nothing to loose by introducing this PES it makes the game look better and feel different, you might no think it makes a difference but you will notice in game, players don't feel different just by the way the move, they feel different by how they dress too.
Neymar tends to wear his low as does Messi sometimes when he does wear ankle tape, whilst Ronaldo used to wear it quite high.
Suggestion 4
It would be a good idea in the menus to change the background close-up replay where there usually is Ibrahimovic, Casillas, Thiago Silva, Shweinsteiger and other players moving slowly, with a replay in the same style from an actual match that you may have played.
Maybe a goal replay, like a last minute header,a screamer, or a fancy skill move that happened in the last match, online or against a friend whilst showing the stadium and other players, fans etc.. and the menu in front.
So like when you bring friends over and they see that you could say "That was the goal that I scored in my last master league game", or "That was the goal I scored to win the division title for my "Pro Clubs" team" something along those lines.
I just think the dark eerie, background is a bit depressing, it's like mood-lighting you know? bright colours are more appealing and set the mood.
Suggestion 3
As a game mode I know it might not be the type of content that the game is trying to promote but I suggest something like this:
I was playing around on my phone, and came across a gaming football app called New Star Soccer. Basically it focuses on the what it feels like to become a footballer, it basically expands widely on the whole "Be a pro" experience.
What I love about it is the fact that you do get that feeling, of being in control of your own career, with choosing your own agent to help you with your contracts, singing up for sponsorships with sports drink brands and with sports clothing brands like Nike or Puma etc.. having to decide between going spending time with your team mates or attending a meeting with your manager or sponsors, which greatly has an impact on your relationships with the coach.
Like maybe because you missed the last meeting and decided to go for drinks with team mates, the coach having heard about that decided to put you on the bench, lowering your relationship with him, as with the club fans, maybe they heard about you missing that meeting in the papers and feel you are lacking commitment to the club etc... and that lowers your relationship with them.
You have to hire a trainer to keep up your skills which might degrade if you don't train enough or get enough game time, some trainers might be better than others but also more expensive, you might have to change your lifestyle, going to the casino, making or losing money, having a girlfriend, she could be a high profile model or whatever which raises you popularity etc..
Maybe playing actual training sessions, as in if you don't pass to your team-mates that damages your relationship with and so it'll reflect on the pitch, or you might miss a lot of chances in training and your coach decides to bench you for the next game.
Getting assist and scoring bonuses, buying houses, cars, etc... Maybe actually seeing your player physically walking or driving down the street, and signing autographs, it doesn't have to be like the greatest of graphics and maybe not actually having driving controls for your car, but just show visual stuff like that, again it doesn't need to be a huge map experience, just make it like Playstation home used to be, you could walk around small areas and stuff, but it was mostly be loading screens to get from place to place.
That would just be amazing, imagine walking round the training facility seeing your team-mates, Messi, Suarez, Pique, Neymar training on running machines and stuff, and then having simple speech interactions with them, building player relationships, maybe a player you got along with in a previous team recommended you to their coach to sign for a high ranking team. Having a lot more contest for game time would be good, don't make it too easy to get into the first team, make a match league debut feel like a hard-earned achievement, not something that came without hard work. Getting ratings after training sessions, buying drinks and food to keep fitness up.
You might see an advertisement board of yourself for a brand like Nike which you have a contract with while you're driving, maybe your lifestyle might impact which sponsors might want to sign with you or maybe if you're frequenting the casino too much and are getting bad reviews with the press and stuff, your current sponsors might terminate the contract you have with them.
It'll affect your popularity and you might lose your girlfriend, the fans trust, the support of the dressing room, and the coach's and the board member's support depending on lifestyle decisions.
I know it might not be PES and what direction the game intends to take but, it's just a such shame that game modes like Be A pro, and Player Career Modes haven't been exploited to their full potential and the fact that, something like that which can easily be made into one of the highest ranking gaming apps in the App Store, could COMPLETELY change the whole face of a game like PES.
Especially with EA bringing women's teams to the franchise, after PES doing amazing to get back to the top, it would be a shame to see them drop again due to lack of content. And I know there probably are a lot of football fans out there wishing they could have the same experience as a real football player though a game. People want options in life, they want to be able to choose, and game developers need to realize it's not as much all about quality nowadays quantity is a big factor too.
(Analogy - Imagine if a game like GTA made it possible for every building in the game to be accessible, no more fake interior pictures and invisible barriers, that would be ground-breaking, on a map of such a huge scale it would completely change the way you would interact with the game, I understand it's incredibly hard in terms of processing power, but the options you would have would be limitless. It would change the face of gaming, giving players a completely different way of interacting with the gaming world and giving them unlimited options.)
And I think this is what gaming is all about, giving the gamer the options he wants. I don't want to have to my player look and feel the same as any other player in the game, I want him to run differently, to have a different body, maybe bigger lats, thighs, biceps, abs.
I don't want to have just brown coloured hair, I want to maybe dye some of it blonde like Neymar or Pogba, have low, high or normal ankle tapes.
I want for my through balls to be manual, my passing to be fully assisted and my crossing to be semi-assisted, not just a bar of 5 degrees which barely gives me any information.
The gamer of today doesn't want to be forced into following the normalities of the game but instead do what he wants and make it his own game.
So imagine if you were to introduce a game mode along those lines, of "a footballer's life", you would be giving millions of players so much more. I believe you can only improve so much on physicality and gameplay graphics and I think to change the status-quo, content is going to be the way to make a breakthrough.
If people like your content great ! if they don't fair enough, but at least you're giving them the option to choose, you're not making them ask for more content. You have nothing to lose.
I think from 2006-2011 there was a huge breakthrough in football game development due to a new generation being introduced, but since then it has declined a lot, I for one was really disappointed with what FIFA brought to the Next gen of PS4/X1, it left me feeling like the PS3/X360 could offer just the same but in lower quality. I didn't feel as revolutionizing and breathtaking as it made itself to be, and so have a lot of other games in my opinion.
But at E3, we really saw a lot of gaming developers break through with their content, and I think so far PES has the advantage over FIFA, they really took that extra year and used it intelligently to revamp the whole franchise. Now is the time for PES to make a breakthrough after not doing so well when they transferred from the PS2 to the PS3/X360 generation, they are really getting back to the top after going back to their roots which made such a success for them.
