i dont believe, it happens every year the same old shit, "OH pes4 is going to be fully licensed, it is confirmed" , then what happens when conami release stuff?............WE FIND OUT ITS BOLLOCKS, so i will believe when i purchase the game.....................thank u for your time;)

I don't think Konami can afford to not have PES4 online. It is a much better series than FIFA and TIF put together but without online gaming the series will suffer. It's marketing suicide to not have an online option. If FIFA and TIF (it hurts to type those two shitty titles!) can do it then the technology and know-how is there.

Come on Konami. Don't let us down.

P.S As for the official license I'll just patch the bugger if they don't sort it out!

Konami NEVER NEVER has said that we/pes will be fully licensed!! It are always some ''funny'' people who say it will be fully licensed.

Until everyone is on broadband (and a good speed broadband) then games like Pro Evo will never really play all that well online (too much lag and slow down). I think the will is there from Konami, but the infrastructure around the world for online play sadly isnt. Dont get me wrong, online play would be a dream come true but until it can be done properly i would rather see Konami plough all their money into licenses. I thank you.

Well said!

But, it says on the box of network adapter for PS2 that it is for Broadband ONLY and recommended speed is 512 k/s. Mine works just fine, no lag at all.

Sadly, it looks average. I'd much rather have a DS.

Looks average???

Mate, I've seen both DS and PSP on E3 and it is probably other way around.
DS looks very retro, and I personaly do not prefer this whole double screen idea. It is a bit robust and not very confortable to hold, and is big as well. Same story as with Game Cube. GC is ridicilous, has worst controller on the market and looks like a TOY (c'mon Nintendo, grow up!). As always, Nintendo is trying to do something that is not necessary whatsoever, while Sony is sticking to the winning formula. PSP looks very futuristic and modern, it's light, HUGE screen, bright colours, crisp (graphics are like on PS2 with S-video) and what is most important it has almost THE SAME hardware as PS2 which means ... A LOT :) Not to say that software is also almost identical.
Controller even has a stick, not just D-pad like DS.
Sorry, I know it is individual, but you're very wrong this time.
You should see what both machines are capable of and then tell which one is average :)

After PSP, there will be new world in hand held consoles.

Can't wait this time next year when all of us will probably play WE8 on PSP wireless! Amazing little thing.

Cheers.

How do you know its difficult to hold? Don't tell me you've held one, because I'd just laugh if you said that. So far, it's no more difficult to hold than the PSP... because none of us have held either. :)

Gamecube has the worst controller on the market? I'm sorry, but you've got to be joking. The Gamecube has the best controller easily: it fits perfectly into your hands with precise button positions, and it doesn't ever hurt your hands and is least breakable. And how the hell does it look like a toy? I think you must have been smoking something... Nintendo don't need to grow up; they just need to upgrade. So far Nintendo have kept their consoles simply playing games (something that a GAMES console should probably only be doing), while Microsoft and Sony have used their 'games consoles' as multimedia devices. It's not really a case of growing up, as keeping up. And maybe if you played some of their "kiddy" games, you'd realise that in fact most of them are refreshing and enjoyable, unlike the usual yearly crap PS2 gamers get thrown in their faces on a yearly basis. Gamecube > PS2.

Surely if you're mature, you'll realise that the Gamecube isn't a toy for little kids. "I'm a mature gamer - I'm not going to buy a Gamecube because it's for kids" is pretty much contradictory.

The dual screen is innovation. Something the gaming industry really needs right now. Nintendo have given us originality, while the PSP is simply giving us PSP games on a handheld. The DS will give a whole new way of playing - something PSP won't. Plus the DS' graphics can easily complete with the PSP's. I take it you haven't seen any DS videos in action... well, it can handle Metroid Prime visuals, which are hardly rubbish.

I'm getting a DS over a PSP, because I like innovation in gaming, and not having yearly updates of Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid and Tomb Raider rammed down my throat. Although it looks like I'm the only one... some people need to open their eyes.

I agree with most of that^
But the GC controller is crap for footy games, coz of the racket the shoulder trigger-buttons make.

Back on topic...
What's to stop someone terminating the connection when you're giving them a right proper online PES-pasting? I suspect nothing, & the other bloke'll probably claim it was a connection problem & nothing intentional
That would be the main problem with online play for me.

Oh, and only using dial-up!

If that was the case a default 3-0 win could be the result, which would be good in a league type tournament. Although it would still be quite frustrating.

i guess the site we login to shud have a prog that can detect wat type of connection the user has and shown 2 others, then we can get 2 choose who 2 play with ;) and axually have tournies for those with only broadbands :p poor dial ups :p

On online poker programs, they have a feature that called disconnection insurance or something like that, where if a player is disconnected, the game will be saved and can be continued where it left off when the player was disconnected. I'd think this could be pretty easily installed on an online PES4 game.

Although probably the easier way around that is a 3-0 defeat like AfroJoe said, although say you've got a 4-0 aggregate win and it's the second leg of a cup tie and you're getting completely pasted 5-0 or 6-0, then deliberately disconnecting would see you through to the next round!

From my experience of playing online games on the PC, there is a considerable amount of wankers out there who will do all they can to cheat at games, not to mention the disconnecting issue. This is something Konami will have to seriously try and stamp out if Pro Evo is to be enjoyable online.

Alright, I respect what you have to say but I won't agree with you.
And I don't want to argue with you. I'll just point out some facts and please try to explain why are they like that?

This is a fact and you cannot argue about it. People prefer PS2 controller over XBOX or GC. Why people buy adapter to hook their PS2 controller on PC, or Xbox as well, when they can easily but Logitec cordless ones, pretty similar to PS2?
Especially when it comes to sports games like WE/PES!

As a matter of fact, we have in our office all consoles from the market, even retro ones, and to tell you the truth, we play GC only when new Zelda is coming out, and maybe Mario or Resident Evil. All other games that come out for all three systems are better on PS2 or XBOX at least in terms of control (and graphics).

And how the hell does it look like a toy? I think you must have been smoking something... Nintendo don't need to grow up; they just need to upgrade. So far Nintendo have kept their consoles simply playing games (something that a GAMES console should probably only be doing)

EXACTLY!!! (except the smoking part). That's where the mistake in Nintendo's policy is. You have to be INNOVATIVE, and not stick to old fashioned formula like SEGA did. People WILL always buy xbox or ps2 over GC just because these are entertainment systems, not just gaming consoles. That's where PSP eats up DS. Unless you are DIE hard fan of NIntendo. And it DOES look like a toy. Many reviewers already point that out. And no, I'm not saying I won't buy GC just because it looks like a toy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm die hard fan of retro gaming and I still play Amiga and Atari 2600, Amiga CD32, Intellivision, CDTV, Lynx, etc...
Personally, I thought that Nintendo and SEGA are going to be leaders in console gaming, especially Nintendo. They had SUCH A POTENTIAL to win this game, but unfortinatelly Nintendo did opposite. And I'm pissed of because of it. I loved my NES and SNES and Gameboy.

But unfortinatelly, the future is not just in gaming consoles. You already have games that look the same on mobile phones and GBA. Who's gonna spend money on GBA then??? Lost race again for Nintendo. Currently developers are making 68% of handheld games for Mobile phones and only 32% for GBA. You know why? Because IT IS EXPENSIVE to make a cartridge!
And that's why it is not necessary to have double screen and touch screen. Nintendo should focus more on what I'm impressed about future gaming, use of touch screen. I do not see double screen very useful, people already argue that it is CONFUSING! Also, since they used touch screen technology, crispness of screen is lost, and in terms of graphics, DS is far from those of PSP shown at E3.

How do you know its difficult to hold? Don't tell me you've held one, because I'd just laugh if you said that. So far, it's no more difficult to hold than the PSP... because none of us have held either. :)

How do I know? Hmmm, let me think! Well, maybe because I was at E3, and maybe because I got to go in PRESS VIP room and saw special demonstration of both machines? How does that sound?
One thing is a fact, A LOT more people went to see PSP over DS. That tells it all.

I'm getting a DS over a PSP, because I like innovation in gaming, and not having yearly updates of Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid and Tomb Raider rammed down my throat. Although it looks like I'm the only one... some people need to open their eyes.

You just dropped all of your allegations about Nintendo, and if you are such a die hard fan of Nintendo you should know why.
One thing that is respectfull for Nintendo is their consistency of updating their trade mark games and making them even better and enjoyable.
Do not tell me that yearly updates of Super Mario in Kart, Party, Golf and other ways is not the same as yearly update of Final Fantasy??? How about Zelda??? How about RE4???

MGS is Sony's trade mark, GT as well, FF as well, Crash as well, and they come out every two three years as they should. Good games deserve that.

And if we are talking about innovation in gaming industry, where is online play in Nintendo??? How about EYETOY, which probably IS most innovative feature of gaming right now? It has enormous potential.

And THIS FACT is where Nintendo is LOSING EVERYTHING!
Both XBOX and PS2 are modifiable. And you can play games from other Regions as well as back up copies. Microsoft and Sony are very well aware of that, and they even helped out in development of mod chips. This is VERY significant when you choose which system to buy.
You can play ALL N64, GBA, PSone, and other system's games on XBOX now! WHO is then going to buy Nintendo??? And you know what, I personally HATE xbox!

Good luck with Nintendo and DS. It is sad story for Nintendo in the future right now. I am very disappointed with Nintendo, and the only company I'm hoping to take over xbox's and ps's fame is maybe Sega with new rumor of their new system. Both Sony and Microsoft, (and SEGA) have their new systems in development, what is Nintendo waiting???

Cheers.
