Reason I ask is everyone in the multiple threads he has made seem extremely sceptical, yet he doesn't ask for a penny until you turn up...

Hi guys,

What are these things like?

I only ever play my friends, and sometimes have a few games at work when the boss is away. I win most of the games, but I don't really know how good I would be compared to you guys who play these tournaments.

I don't mind if I lose, I just don't want to look stupid. If i do get knocked out early on are there other computers there to play people, or is it just standing round watching?

I really want to play some better players, as I think it the best way to learn and improve at the game.

I'd recommend going down to see what it's like.
There should usually be spare PS2s for friendlies. If you're based in or near London, check out the LPEG tournaments (there aren't any threads about them yet but there will be).

The standard is usually quite high but you only get better by playing great players - even if they don't always play the beautiful game the way it was meant to be played. You just need to remember to only pause the game when the ball is out of play and agree on the camera you play on (or one per half).
