Pes engine is not old because they still need to make the best out of it.

Yeah, but How much further can it be pushed?? Wouldn't it be better to just come up with a New and Improved Engine?

I don't see myself buying PES with the same Old Engine by 2010.. even more so considering I will be satisfied with PES09.

I'll probably skip a couple of years after PES09 -and- maybe buy PES 2011, maybe then I'll get to see a version of PES with a Next Gen Engine.

When PES2008 turned out the way it did I was prepared for Konami to maybe take 2 years before releasing the next installment and take the time to make it truely Next Gen.

Maybe, just maybe they could be doing that in the background and releasing PES2009 as a stop gap by basically "fixing" PES2008.

Probably not like....

I know it's better to come up with a new engine. But for now I'm happy because pes 09 seems pretty good.

Don't you think its just a tad premature. Personally, i've loved the PES series since the beginning, and i wouldn't want them to overhaul anything too drastically. Just add to it piece by piece, i don't want a game thats totally unrecognisable from the PES that i know and love.

couldn't agree more

PES should use the MGS4 engine seeing as they're both made by the same company, but then again Sebass is probably too lazy to change it.

I found a cool special, showing the PES series, from PES 1 until PES 2009. :) Very cool. I fell into thoughtlessly... :)

There you can see, how the series developed over the past few years...

In comparison with PES 1, PES 09 looks like a graphical bomb LOL

Nice find. There's a big difference between pes 09 and the others. Pes 5 comes the closest so far. But I'm only judging 09 from the videos. I have to play it to fully decide.

I think Konami should keep PES5 as the main game, as the Core Gameplay..

But we should really be seeing something better from Next Gen Consoles.. we should be seeing player's finally coming to life; more Types of Movements, more Stats and Special Abilities, etc, etc..

PES should stick to their roots -but- they should work on the Animations. Asides from running Realistically, we should also Notice Significant Differences between each player's Movements.

This is Evidently Not the case with PES09 -but- this is what should be accomplished with PES 2010. Keep the same PES5 Gameplay, but with Great Animations.. that's where Next Gen Football Sims are failing the most.

Animations; different styles of "Trapping" the ball, touches with the Outside and Inside of the Foot, different types of Slow Dribbles, etc, etc.. Players that actually Look as thought they are "Dribbling" with the ball -instead- of just Running with the ball.

Just Imagine PES5 with great Graphics and great Animations.. it CAN be that good.

man, that would be totally awesome! I agree with you dude, keep the core gameplay the same, and just add tons and tons of animations, extra stuff etc.
