i dont know why, but the refs in pes 2009 are just awful.

98% of the time they dont call a foul when it is necessry!

almosot always when im just a bit ahead of the defenders and im running towards the keeper- i shoot and the defender tackels me.

its stupid, just because they break my leg while im shooting and not before- its not a foul.

and when you run and they slide to the ball first and you fall- then its conciderd a foul..

i dont get it is so stupid!!

I had a world cup game with Cameron vs Czech those bastards sent three of my guys in a stretcher successively and no cards no foul I kid you not lol. However I had Eto'o open up a can of whop ass and sent them home packing

You cant tackle from the side and win the ball without the refs coming over thinkin there mad booking you, but there getting better because in the last PES they were dreadful

The refs are sufferable, but there are two instances there they annoy me a lot:

- late tackles. In real football, these are considered worse than early fouls, but on PES, it seems the ref is only watching the ball, while the linesmen are permanently just watching the offside line (getting every decision correct all the bloody time) so they miss these fouls.

- barges from behind. The best contribution PES2008 brought to the series was that big, physical players had a use; you could hold the ball up. But that's been undone by PES2009 because if someone is holding the ball up, you just put pressure on from behind, and the guy on the ball goes flying off, and it's a free kick about 20% of the time.

i know, you can stand 18 meters away from the goal and wait for someone to pushe you- and you get a freekick..

but if you do it in the 16 meter box- its not a foul..

another annoying thing is that i always bump into the ref and lose the ball.
many times it stoppes me from scoring..

Hey mate calm down, i know you quite frustrated about the referee. I'm having the same problem as well, i'm in master league third season by using manu and versus arsenal at away match....you know what happen ?? The referee sent 4 arsenal players off.. which is toure, fabregas, rosicky and nasri.....what a shame.....

Normally if you play PC game (fifa manager or others) you may disqualify from the game by losing 0-3 if you have 3 players get booked with the red card.

The referee tends to not give card on late tackles and that spoils the game completely. But in some ways it is fun as in BaL, I always slide unsuspecting opponents who dont have the ball and its real fun!!!:)

Well the refs need to improve. I want more fouls. Something like Pes 5 but not that much otherwise it would annoy most of the fans.

rules being ignored

i noticed that in PES the refs ignores the rules.
when a player is on attack, running towards the keeper (in the 16 box), a defender decides to tackle him.
apparently the defender cant take the ball with a slide tackle, while bothe players are running full speed.
OK so the stupid defender tackle me, BUT- i am just abot to kick and somehow i manage to kick the ball staright into the net.
guess what- its a penalty and a red card! the rules of football say that when you score a goal and the defender tackles you, its only a yellow card, because he didn't stop a goal scoring opportunity.
this can happen in a various of ways- defender slides to my feet and by that scoring.
a tackle while delivering a corner kick and the other player scores.

these were all scored BEFORE the refs whistle for a foul.

i saw FIFA also breaking the rules- when a player tackes a penalty and the ball hits the post (without anyone else touching the ball), the player took the rebound and scored.
as far as i know a player can't touch the ball twice in a penalty.

Refs need to be completely changed , they are plain ridicilous.

From a horrible foul that is uncalled on your player or no cards to a foul for a red card that wasn't even a slide tackle sometimes... to not enough fouls as it is .... to .... basically completely ignorant and dumb.

The refs in PES 2009 really are horrible... From not giving fouls for obvious bad tackles, through calling silly fouls to accidentally getting in your way...

First one is as someone else has already stated... You shoot in the 16, get tackled almost at the same time, you send the ball wide/occasionally score a goal, and miliseconds later you get your leg broken or w/e... Guess what? Nothing happens. You try to run into the box from 45 degree angle but are obviously pushed by some defender... It's nothing, but when this defender starts running and you try to take him over, you barely touch him with your shoulder, a whistle comes and you end up having a long ball played into your defense...

Silly fouls being called? A guy comes in down your wing, you slide from the side with your full back, he somehow slides with one leg stretched and the other making a swing. You kick the ball behind that player, he trips over it and when he falls he accidentally touches the other leg, guess what? It's a foul, goddamnit! (The other thing is your players usually make sliding tackles inappropriately for the situation...)

And a little word about bumping into the ref... You have a corner kick, all but one of the CBs get into or near the box of your opponent, their GK punches the ball away and a CF of the AI gets the ball, you try to run after him and so does the ref to follow the action... You slow down the CF a bit, the ref gets between him and your last CB, you apply pressure with the CB... And accidentally you bump into the ref, ending up on the ground and the CF gets a 1-on-1... Would happen once in 20~ games or so - OK, stuff like that happens. But not in every second match...

this happens to me all the time. if the refs dont change in PES 2010 im buying FIFA.

The refs are disaster!!!you have to play against 11+1 (the ref) and olways was this problem on pes:realmad:
