Completely True.. and even more annoying is the FACT that even if FIFA09 is good, I'll (somehow) end up playing PES6 instead.
I really Fail to Understand WHY they keep producing disappointing games in Next Gen Consoles.. I mean, they just had to Elaborate on PES5 and PES6 -and- instead, they end up releasing PES08.
How does someone goes from GREAT to Unplayable?? Even more so considering that Next Gen Consoles offer much more possibilities -and- yet, here is PES09, with the same Old Engine, Movements, etc, etc.. with the same Old Flaws and the most annoying thing is, that the Gameplay isn't as good as the Old versions.
I haven't played the demo.. But there's no doubt Konami have been careless and lazy about the PES series. How can you Introduce even more Flaws with PES08?? And then again, Release the Same Old Flaws -without- the Classic Gameplay.
They Leave the Flaws -but- somehow managed to screw up the Gameplay?? That's just careless, I don't think Konami even tries.
Anyways, I haven't played the demo, I hope it isn't as bad as some have said. And as for the Full Versions, less than 2 weeks to go..

don't listen to speculation! I am a seasoned vetren of the PES series lol and can say it plays great! I havent expierenced any bugs and love it! PES6 was shocking BTW!

Like I keep saying to people, this is em.. the 2nd proper go at Next Gen PES. PES 6 doesn't count as it was a rushed port with updated graphics. EA had oh.... 7 or so trys before finally cracking it this year, even though I can play it to death and still find the same issues I always have with Fifa. So give Konami a chance, honestly you are all far too expectant, they will get there. I guess you are just acting like real football fans though, the team not playing well and all calling for the managers head instead of giving him time to build a team. I on the other hand am a very patient man, always have been, and when I worked in games development, I knew all about the pressures, it can be hell at times especially when adapting a well established format to a new console generation.
Has Konami let us all down as much as EA in the past??

Contra(legendary), Castlevania(Legendary), Turtles series on Nes and Snes(Legendary), Metal Gear on NES(Legendary), ISS on various formats(Legendary) and of course the mighty Metal Gear Solid(even though I only really enjoyed it in doses). What legendary games has EA produced?? I'm hoping that the new game Dead Space will change that, but I tend to favour companies that shaped my childhood gaming, those being Konami and Capcom

We do tend to forget things very quickly.. that's how it is though, the best game wins the customers.
Anyways, I agree with everything you say.. but still, it's disappointing to wait for another year before Konami can finally release a proper Next Gen Football Sim. Patience is a virtue.

The animations are tons better than pes 08 and flat ball? It feels heavy and realistic like pes 6.
I'm not defending the game. It's what I think. It truly is great. Both fifa and pes this year are pretty good.

As much as I hate to say it, EA did produce the Sims... Sadly one of the most successful games of all time...
Then there's Spore, which whilst dissapoint in comparison to what they promised, also an amazingly popular game.
Konami have made many better games though in the past, but I have to say, the past doesn't matter, it they expect us to lap up this shit, they are mistaken, I don't play a game with reputations in mind!

They made their first one for FIFA 07, and that was apparently good but unfinished (never touched it), and I didn't mind FIFA 08, it was far better than PES 2008, and now FIFA 09 has blown this shit called PES 2009 out of the water before it's even been released!

I'm not smoking anything, I said they have had 7 attempts, not 7 years, I didn't say just Fifa games, you seem to forget the champions League games, Euro 2008, World Cup 06, Road to world cup 06 and Fifa Street titles, all made by EA Sports so yeah... for a Fifa fanboy you don't really know too much about the games made by your precious EA. I love Metal Gear Solid, and I'm not a FIFA fanboy...
I also didn't know that people classified that retarded FIFA street shit as FIFA games... The engine is completely different, I played it with a mate once, before spending the day signing: "EA Stole your hundred buck, doo daa!"
I did play World Cup 06, but only on the computer, your right though that was for the next gen on the Xbox 360 wasn't it... So they really did have a few more shots. Still, same ammount of time, I'd expect better from Konami, and I expect better!
99.95% of all Game reviews are stuck up lifeless twits with no idea of what they're talking about... I think there are 2 that I've ever listened to.

I think FIFA 09 is just more realistic and more enjoyable this time around, like PES 5/6 were a few years back.
You might as well have kick throughs PES is that out of date now.
