Has anyone any information regarding the online play. Is the lag going to be fixed.

I hope they sort this 'lag' out................... Otherwise i don't think the game is worth getting.

Cause you don't really know how good you are unless you play different people using different teams and tactics?

Does everyone not agree????????????

We will find out if its lag free when the game comes out in a few weeks.

And just because online play isn't good, it doesn't mean don't buy the game. There are lots more to look forward to other than online:

- Improved ML.
- 360 Control.
- Online Competitions.
- Improved player faces and stats.
- The list is endless.

But yea the online play is very important, but doesn't mean don't buy the game. PES2010 will be an improvement.

Pes 6 did lag!

And as for all the other bits and pieces, stats and pretty players faces- load of s**t if you can't even get a good game online.

Everybody buys the game for their own reasons. Mine is for the online play, so if they can't make it right then don't advertise it.

Pes 6 on the 360 was good but there was some lag. Not match endingly bad but crept in now and again. But of the few matches i did play i'd say it was pretty good. Defo the best in the Pes series online.

The first week or so there was lag, they did something to fix this though and it was all good from there, until 2008 that is.

The only time PES6 lagged was against the cheats (more often than not Spanish) who lagged the game to gain an advantage. Against mates, etc it didn't lag a single bit and was/is superb.

If Konami agree with the comment earlier, that it doesnt matter if the game lags online or not because of all the other options, then they are sadly deluded. PES sites and forums have started to die because of the poor online capability and excellent online play is essential for most PESers. We won't know until its out but I know many Die hard PES players that will leave if online is poor for the 3rd year running.

But we have to wait and see how it turns out.
BTW you can never judge a game by online only. The reason is that although online is pretty i9mportant, you will still see GAMEPLAY + GRAPHICS as in the offline mode. So those are the most important things in a game. Then comes the online.
I am saiying this, if the online is good, and the game is like pes 09 (has the same flaws and weaknesses and arcade feel) then online won't be popular because you feel cheated since the AI decides too much for you in pes 09.
Ofcourse this is all based if the online is good.
But it is said to be improved and they also said that online is a priority sort of.

IMO Online is popular because it always better to play a human opponent than the AI, I would say the game play etc. needs to better for a stand alone game than it ever does when playing somebody else.

Yeah online is easy the most important feature for me buy a mile, il give master league a shot this year though, i didnt even bother with it last year for the first time ever.

i played a lot on the pc online with a superb internet connenction and imo pes always did lag - always... i don't know how you guys define lag. may be different on consoles...
pes 5 - playable but definitly not lagfree
pes 6 - best online performance so far, but also not completely lagfree
pes 2008 - unplayable, horrible
pes 2009 - between pes 5 and pes 2008, but most of the time also unplayable

konami can count itself lucky to have such loyal fans, footballgames are naturally multiplayer games ever since they exist and here are still guys who defend the crappy online mode. sure, offline gameplay, feeling and ball physics were/are/will be terrific but a game in 2009 have to have a complete perfected online mode. refering to a solide offline gameplay is no excuse. think about games like left for dead, battlefield or even fifa with achievements, cheating prevention, integrated voicechat and so on... and primarily important for pc version sales: only a good online mode can push the sales and minimize the illegal downloads.

i would call myself a pes fanboy, but after those empty online promises from the last years my patience is over. however, hope springs eternal, maybe they make it this year

In this day and age, Online gaming is the most important feature. I believe sport games are meant to be played with human opponents to get the best out of the game. PES6 was the best online and this is going back a few years, with the advanced technology Konami should be able to make it as smooth as offline.
