Right, got a brand new laptop, well 6 months old:

2.8ghz, Pentium 4
512mb ram
64mb graphics card

right, thats shitty in itself, that i have twice the recomended processor and ram, but only half the recomended graphics card, but anyway. it runs, just slowly.

ive been told i might be able to get it to work somehow, and ive got 6 days to get it working, or it'll have to go back.

any ideas as to what i can do? ive downloadaed the 3d analyser, but not sure exactly what to do with it. ive tried switching the priority to realtime but that seems 2 crash the computer.

help cos graphically its amazing! :D and i wana keep it

which video card?
nvidia based?
trying the 4x.xx series of drivers is better for some of the older cards works out.

windowsxp?

start->run->msconfig
disable anything you dont recognize at startup

make sure that there is a minimal amount of things running down in the systray (area by the clock)

not the latest but back a few versions...regardless of what kinda card it is.

try going to the device manager

right click on my computer
click manage
click device manager

navigate to the video section and see what it says about your video card. that should at least give you a clue as to what driver you should be looking for.

The only thing that ever speeded up my game even slightly was to turn V-Sync off and play in window mode. You can do that by going to the display in the control panel and clicking "Advanced" under the settings tab.

any ideas what i can do now? i will love anyone that helps fix this for me! :D ... but dont let that put u off helping me !

Ash mate big problems with laptops... Their graphics cards arent designed for games necessarily so you may have crap performance from newer greater games such as pro evo 3! :-( I know that Intel Based Graphics cards are shit anyway so I dont like your chances of getting the game well playable mate....

Have you also tried turning MIPMAPPING down to "best performance" in the advanced/3D bit of the display settings?

yeah

right click desktop
properties
settings
advanced

somtimes you can find direct3d settings in there, and setting these to low or 'best performance' could help out some too.
