PES3 (PC) Controls

Hi folks, first post here. Just wondering if anyone has control problems with this? Just started playing the game really (used to play Fifa - I know I know), taking some getting used to but what a brilliant game!!! Anyway, I use my PS2 controllers on the pc and am using the D pad to move. Often when I change direction quickly when I have the ball he will do a trick ie 360` spin and often leave the ball behind! Is there anyway to stop this happening? Also, would it be better to try and get used to using the sticks rather than the DPad? Finally, is there anywhere on here that can give good beginner tips in summary given that I hardly know any of the special moves!!

Thanks for any advice,

Hi there.

Special moves can be seen at
http://www.issextreme.com/gameplay/
(Don't worry about it saying WE7, the moves all apply to PES3 too and PES3 has a couple of extra ones too).

If you're using the Left Analogue stick to move the player, he shouldn't be doing the 360 spin move. That is only done with the Right Analogue Stick moving in a complete circle.

Some people say that the Analogue stick for moving is a superior method of control but it is more difficult to get used to. D-pad is simpler, particularly if you're new to the game.
If you use the D-Pad to move players, they shouldn't be doing any spins without you wanting them to.

Welcome and enjoy the game :)

Great page, thanks for that! With regards to my prob, one of the moves I found on the DPad was double press in the direction I was running and he would do a step over. That aint so bad, but the one I cant control is if I`m sprinting and maybe press a couple of directions after the other to avoid a defender, he does a 360 and looses the ball!

Hmm. Just been trying out some of those moves. Not sure if I`m not grasping something but for instance, to do a fake, it suggests [] [] X but I cant seem to double tap [] because as soon as I tap it once he shoots! Should I also be holding something down?

I do the shoot feint by holding [] then while the bar is still going up pressing X. Much easier than trying to double tap it :D

I second the reply to turn analogue on to take the 360 spin off the D pad. Without analogue on the "right stick" default maps to the D pad, hence the problem you're having with unwanted spins.

JawD, the proper controls for the double shot feint are [] followed by X. Double tapping [] does no harm, but it does no good either. If you have problems getting the timing right, see the "Shot Feints" section in the link in my signature.

btw, what is called "first a short stub" isn't really part of the double shot feint. The "first short stub" also happens when you do a normal shoot (with []) whenever you're close to the keeper.
