Wow! Sounds very good.

Is this especially for PS2? And what forms are the sounds in, I take it there .adx's right?

EDIT - Should work fine for other platforms, sound files are all the same in every version.

Eventually got it working. I must say, I appreciate the work that these guys have gone to for changing all these files. However, the call names do not work, so when you are in game and Motson says something, you sometimes get Brackley say the players name. I know you can turn that off, but will take a long time. I would recommend it, if you just wanted to be different, as it is very good. Because lets face is PES4, commentry is pretty shite.

He didn't do the call names because it would have taken him a lot longer to do all of them. Easiet thing to do is just turn names off.

Yep, exactly what I'm going to do.

Right, I've just changed the Commentators name's Peter Brackley for John Motson, and Trevor Brooking for Mark Lawrenson. For people who are looking to also do the same, and instead of them searching through every file, here are the files that include the commentators names, and can be changed:

mn_resident_e.str
end2str_e.str
enterstr_e.str
staff_list_e.str

This is of course in the e_text, also using DkZ Studio.

Im new to Dk Studio (usually use AFS Explorer) and havnt got a clue how do apply this patch as, imo, the readme that came with it is useless. Ive done a search for a guide for applying patches using dk studio-but had no luck. Could someone whos got it working tell me step-bystep how? or point out the thread?

Yes, someone else who had the same problem as me. I agree, the readme is shite. However you need to rename you 'e_sound.afs' to '1newe_sound.afs'.

Done that ok, open the 'Beardy's patch.dkz', wait for it to load, then click the 'Apply patch' or whatever it says, then open the '1newe_sound.afs'. It will take a while, so be patient. Also do not do anything else whilst it's doing as it makes it very slow.

Once that has done, you should get a nice little message saying 'enjoy your game!!', then do the same thing for the update. Open 'update patch.dkz' and apply patch again to '1newe_sound.afs'.

Once finished rename your '1newe_sound.afs' back to e_sound.afs, place it in the directory and should work fine.

No Problem. I only wish that they came with it. Otherwise I would have saved about 2 hours yesterday.

Open DkZ Studio
Click File-->Open and select the beardy magic patch
Once it is open, click edit>export checked files
A dialog box should then pop up, select a folder where to extract the files to
Once you have clicked OK, wait while it extracts the files.
When it has finished, click File-->Open and select e_sound.afs file from your dat folder
Once opened, click Edit-->Import files in the current folder
A dialog box should now pop up, select the folder where you extracted the files to before and click OK.
A searching box should then appear for a few seconds, then it should start importing the files
Once it has finished importing, click File-->Save as and name the file e_soundnew.afs and click save.
Wait for it to save.
When saved, close DkZ Studio and use My computer to find the pro evo 4 dat folder, default location is :

C:\Program Files\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 4\dat

Once in the folder, rename e_sound.afs to 'e_soundold.afs'
Rename e_soundnew.afs to 'e_sound.afs'

And that should hopefully have worked.
