PES5 in "average review score" shocker !!!

Just got back from the WHS, where I picked up a copy of XBM (not the official one - but a 3rd party review mag with King Kong on the cover), anyway I flicked to read the review for PES5 and was shcoked to find that they had awared the game 7/10!!?? Upon reading further the reviwer basically went on to say that this was because it is a huge step backwards from PES4 with "abysmal" AI??

....and here's the worst part....they also reviewed FIFA 06 and gave that 8/10!!??? WTF!!??

Who wants to join me and pay that reviewer a "freindly" vist!

Yeah lts pay him a visit, think its cos he is a xbox fan and PES4 was the first on xbox he hasnt had the journey we have had and know that PES5 is 10/10 and better than its predersesors!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it is the opinion of a complete cretin. I don't even bother with magazine reviews half the time - i've bought every version of the ISS/pro evo series and have made my own mind up.

Take Play magazine for example: big fans of PES but they slated PES4 and gave it 78% or something. I just couldn't understand how they, or anyone for that matter, could come to that conclusion without the aid of a crack addiction, but each to their own.

I know what I think of PES and that's all that matters.

What I find strange about the AI comments is that this is precisely an area of the game that has meant to have been improved.

I'm just hoping that the comments are based on the frustrations of not being able to score at ease like you can on PES4.

Different League!

Having played the half match demo of pro evo 5, I assure everyone that the A.I is much improved as are all of the match physics. Most noticible are the through balls, which can actually be directed round the back of defences rather than just in straight lines. Crossing is better, as are attacking and defensive headers, passing is tougher but far more rewarding and at last shooting from distance actually resembles the power of premiership players. The new player animations also adds to the realism... the game is far superior in every way!

these GEEKS just dont know wot pro ev 5 is all about and half of them probobly dont have a clue about football either.They think that because the ball doesnt stick to the players feet and every pass isnt inch perfect that konami have did something wrong.

Wot they dont know is that konami and all real pro ev fans have been waiting for this to happen,for it to get more and more realistic and if ur not good with the technical side of pro ev(controlining the ball,sheilding the ball,and knowing wot pass to make with wot player etc)then this game just isnt for them.

wot im getting at is that they shouldnt be talking a load of shit to people who have never played pes and put them of it straight away(even though we know theyre full of protein drinks)REALLY THEY SHOUILD HAVE A PRO EV SERIES FAN COMMENT ON IT RATHER THAN A DOOM FANATIC AND THEN PEOPLE WILL REALISE THAT PRO EV IS ONE OF THE MOST OVERPOWERING GAMES EVER TO BE RELEASED.

I'm thinking their PES 5 review was rushed so they could get it into this months mag and given the game is harder they never reall had time to get used to it
if i were to review previous PES games after a couple matches i wouldn't have been that impressed with them

Who gives a toss what a magazine gave it? I'm going to buy it regardless, and will enjoy it, so an opinion by someone else doesn't bother me.

i have to agree with dazmister on this one. having played the demo on ps2 i have yet to notice any of the problems the xbox mag have mentioned but even if they are problems like the ones mentioned i feel that maybe these aren't mistakes by konami after all. Anyone who plays real football (im a defender) will tell you that you cant always just charge at the ball or indeed the forward will just slide the ball past you to a teamate who will be clean through on goal. Also i think its good that first touches have been changed as before even poor players were able to control everything on a sixpence before spraying a 50 yard ball to the next player.
I every faith that konami haven't ruined my beloved pes games

Lets face it, Xbox reviewers aint got much to crow about have they.
They are too busy playing Halo(good game) and spend 5 mins with pe5 trying to score. They dont or cant score so they pick up Fifao6 score in 10 seconds of playin it and thats why they rate fifa better. Coz they cant be arssed to master a quality game so they look for the easy option.
