PES5 sucks ass

Ok just to clear things up in terms of my level at this game, first time I got PES5 I played Brazil (cpu) a friendly on 5 stars and won 4 - 0. So its not that I can't play the fucking thing and I find the Cpu has no real chance of ever beating me(not ML where it cheats its bollox off), I just didn't enjoy it as much as i was expecting to thats all (no conspiracy).

Haha, I find it funny how if anyone criticises PES, a large mob of proletariat immediately jump on the poster and ravage him with comments like, 'If u dont liek the game its coz u r shit'. I didn't know retarded people could be so elitist.
To be honest I have to say Pro Evo 4 is better, it's far more enjoyable and I really don't dig the AI being a master of 'sticking out your leg at an opportune moment'. I don't believe football plays like this in real-life...not that PES4 does either, but at least it was enjoyable somewhat. It frustrates me when I get near the goal and there is a mob of 10 players all crammed in the box, and my players seem quite happy to stand in useless positions i.e. behind defenders, so it's virtually impossible to shoot or pass. When I do get an opportunity to shoot an AI player magically appears and manages to stick out his leg. I also find that goalies dive away from the ball in a 1-on-1 situation. Doesn't make much sense, does it?

I just find it frustrating that i can't make the game feel realistic sometimes, I mean cross passing was like impossible now, even if i succeed, AI player magically appears and manages to stick out his leg.
Wats wierd is how you can score from outside the super big box easily with any middleshooting players, but you can't score inside the box no matter wat cus the AI magical leg, which is really unrealistic.
now i need to mention I'm already use to this game, and can score 2-0 in most games.

Ok I just had to come back in here (don't ask me why) an say that I am getting used to PES5 and don't (after hundreds of hours of play) find it as painfull as I did at first.
P.S. The auto shimmy in PES5 is still shit and its killing the players ability to do anything most of the time, I liked using R2 to do the trick...

imo pes4 was the best in the series, pes5 is good...but just not as fun as i expected it to be, the amount of lame fouls given is more ridiculous than the handballs in pes3!, sorta sucks the enjoyment out of the game

I agreed with yoahan until he started being a dick, it was difficult in ML in Div 2. But only because every bastard team defends with 11 players! When you get promoted into Div 1, its easy! The fact is, as to what you know from PES4??? Sod it all. Throw it away and re-learn it. What they've done is make this a more realistic football simulation. If you just want the easy tackling system from PES4 (press and hold X while running after the player) then play PES4. Now you've got to think intelligently about a game of football. Block the passage of play, move the man you're controlling to block off the space while pressing square to have another player come over and press the opponent with the ball. Shield the ball, jockey the opponent and force him backward, wait until enough of the ball is shown and THEN make your tackle.
Shots and headers etc are all about timing; you can't just whack the button miles before the ball gets to your player and expect it to pull off a flying scissor kick to make you feel good about yourself. You have to get your man in the right position and wait for that pivotal moment before unleashing. You're blasting it over all the time because you're timing's out, not cos the computer is "cheating". *laughs* I find this the funniest of all statements. "The computer just cheats!!"
It's the lamest excuse for someone without patience and the willingness to persevere. You have to learn to play it and it helps if you actually understand how the game of football works. Like the guy said, you gotta set up your formations, set your attacking runs, your defensive strategies etc. A team who uses better tactics than you is bound to outplay you and expose the shortcomings of your tactical ability.
Sounds to me like you just want a piss-easy, arcade style of football with the AI doing most of the work for you rather than an actual football simulation and experience. Like the man said, if that's what you want, get FIFA. Cos it sucks. Or just hark back to the days of the Amiga and Sensible Soccer when you just run around using a joystick and have a single button which does everything.
