I mean both quality players but Alonso is a genius on the ball his range of passing and finishing is superb, and yes he is more defensive. And he carry's liverpool team forward alongside gerrard, whereas lampard has other better players around him.

lampard does do his part in defense...and surely does his part in offense....
don't remember when alonso scored 17 goals and assisted in 19 goals in a season....oh ya lampard did that!!....last yr!!!...i'm sure alonso is capable of that....if u combine 3 seasons for him...maybe more....

Yeah i agree with you there! Lampard's finishing is better than Alonso's, but Alonso is a great playermaker and a better all rounder IMO
