PES6 will NOT run! Please help

Hi there

Recently I formatted my hard drive as my PC wasnt running all too well (but Pes6 was!). Now, after formatting, getting all the latest drivers on and putting some games on, Pes6 will NOT run. I just get the "PES6 has encountered a problem and needs to close" 3 seconds after trying to run the EXE.

Please can someone suggest anything I can try???

My system is as follows...

Windows XP Home V2002 SP2
Pentium 4 3ghz (latest motherboard/bios drivers)
1gb RAM
Sapphire Radeon X800 (with latest drivers)
Onboard sound (latest drivers)

any suggestion that doesnt involve spending loads of money? i bought pes6, i expect the thing to work. i can play loads of games with far more intensive graphics than pes. its so annoying, no error message or anything

any techys got anything i can try???

patches ant going to work as its your machine thats fooked (considering it worked before)

go in to device manger make sure alls running properly
reinstall/look for drivers and install again
reinstall pes

you machine must be able to run it as you've stated it can, so you may have missed something ofter reinstalling windows.

I bought a copy of zone alarm internet suite 2007 to put on for after i formatted and reinstalled windows. heard it was decent. i wonder if its that. it better not be that thats screwing it up i heard it was good! im gona uninstall it and stick mcaffee on if thats the case

ive got the free version, cant see it being that as it give you the option to allow internet traffic (depending on your settings)

looking again at the error message that sound like a graphics card, use to get the same sort of thing a while ago, check the advance info, should give some text with where it balls up

It might be something as simple as a corrupt exe file, try downloading a no cd one from one of the many sites. Game Copy world for instance. If all else fails uninstall, making sure to clear all traces of PES6 from your registry then install from scratch again. Even simpler, try altering the PES settings in the settings file(put them all down low) then run it, see if that solves it.

I bet it is my graphics drivers. I never had this problem but when I formatted I got the latest drivers. Can you get previous versions of drivers? Im using the ATI catalyst stuff

check the site Game Copy World dot com. Its got lots of fixed exes and graphics card patches for a lot of games. ;) Just type it into google, you'll get it.

I've got 2 GeForce 6800 PCI express cards in mine, SLI of course, and it runs great with all the latest drivers so i don't know much about the Radeon cards sorry :(

Graphics Card

I have had trouble with two ATI Radeon cards (9200 128 + 1600pro 512) Have just bought a Nvidia Geforce (7600Gt 256) runs much better. Don't touch ATI alot of problems with them and PES6.
